Book Review: An uneven, sixth-grade book report

Please don't buy this book. The amount of time that will take you to read it will be roughly the same amount of time it took to write it. As a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, there was nothing in this book that I didn't already know, essentially from reading the paper or watching ESPN. The narrative is repetitive, uneven, and without any structure. The author takes us through several eras of Eagles history, and given that there are not many truly great moments (i.e. Super Bowl victories), there have certainly been many colorful ones.
The most frustrating part about the book is that how often the author repeats the same stories over and over - the Terrell Owens dilemna, the Super Bowl loss, and other popular incidents like the Santa Claus snowball incident and the Sonny Jurgensen trade. With only 177 pages, you would expect more, but clearly this is an average job. My high school English teacher would have given this extended paper a C.
If you are really interested in understanding what it's like to be an Eagle, read "Bringing the Heat" by Mark Bowden - it's obvious that he knows his subject, and this author does not.
