Book Reviews of The Good Guy

Book Review: This is an excellent read.
Summary: 5 Stars

Truly four stars but I gave it five to make up for those who panned the book because they thought it should've been a horror story. Gee, sorry for the disappointment. Mr. Koontz has penned a very good story. The characters are well developed, no lulls in the suspense, in this day and age the tenet is certainly believable. The protagonists are very likable, and the bad guys are really bad. A very nice ending with twists here and there. At about 444 pages, an excellent, quick read.

Book Review: Amazing Dean Koontz
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this book! I had gotten away from reading Dean Koontz, because i'm not a fan of the "Odd" books or the Christopher Snow books. However, Velocity, The Husband and now The Good Guy are what i look forward to in a Dean Koontz novel. I thought the relationship between Timothy Carrier and Linda Paquette was beautiful. And the way Mr. Koontz was able to impart a sense of humor in the midst of edge of your seat suspense shows what a masterful story teller he is.

Book Review: A great triller in the tradition of Intensity
Summary: 5 Stars

The Good Guy is a Koontz thriller similar to Intensity in that it involves a "good" person being chased by a madman. It is extremely suspenseful at times and as typical with a Koontz novel, the main characters have wounds from their pasts that are hidden and they are much more complex characters than it first seems. The premise is very interesting and it captures you from the start. I am not a fan of all of Koontz works, but I really enjoyed this one.

Book Review: Mr. Koontz kept the pages turning,
Summary: 5 Stars

which is why I gave this book five stars. If I were "grading" on plot and believability I might take off a star or two. Other reviewers have mentioned the shaky plot points. I only care that I couldn't put the book (actually my iTouch running the Kindle app) down. The author casually mentions things early on that don't get explained until the end, and I wanted to find out the "big picture". The action is pretty intense too.

A good read.

Book Review: The Plot Thickens
Summary: 5 Stars

It is really hard to imagine a better plot developer that Koontz. I recently started reading his novels and I must say he is a master attention getter or curiousity arouser. For that reason once you pick up one of his works you are automatically turn into a page turner. This title begins with the why? to the how? and with the twist and turns at the end you have a complete story with a moral lesson at the end. That is what intrigues me the most.
