Book Review: Will you read us The Gingerbread Man?
Summary: 5 Stars
This is the version of the Gingerbread Man that I read with my class of 3 year olds. Even though they choose to read it at least once a week (some weeks it's every day!), they never tire of it. At the end we all help the gingerbread man shout at the fox, getting louder and louder. And when asked why the fox ate the gingerbread man, they reply with a big grin, "Because he's a cookie!" Young children love the repetition that is an important part of developing pre-reading skills.
If you can get your hands on the old cassette version read by Jean Richards, grab it. Her reading is delightful and the music by composer, Arthur Rubinstein, is a perfect addition.
