Book Reviews of The Gilded TarotBook Review: One of the best Summary: 5 Stars
While I cannot call myself an experienced Tarot card reader (yet) i did purchase about 10 Tarot cards sets.
I feel that there is an emotional response I have with all my Tarot cards. I click on not with them.
This set here is one of the best! Out of the 10-12 sets I have my favorite is this and the Golden Tarot.
The pictures are just beautiful, expressive, intuitive. You can look at the cards and tell a story.
You will not regret if you buy this deck. I highly recommend this and the Golden Tarot.
I also have some of the Dragon Tarot, Angel Tarot and the dark Crow Tarot.
My least favorite is the Celestial Tarot. I have spent time taking a card (like the 5 of cups for example) from all the sets and
compare the cards - learn to understand the little symbols, colors or the intuitive sense I get from the same card from all the sets I have. The gilded is easy to read, easy to respond to. If you want beautiful, intuitive, good and easy to read Tarot then this (and the Golden ) are what you're looking for.
Book Review: Absolutely Beautiful Deck Summary: 5 Stars
The long awaited Gilded Tarot has finally come out in its commercial edition and it is not a disappointment. The colors and images are bold and stunning. Ciro Marchetti adopted much of the symbolism from the Rider-Waite deck to create a beautiful and usable tarot deck. The figures on the cards are sensual without being offensive and some of them are so expressive I feel like they are looking right into my soul. The image on the back of the cards is just as beautiful as the fronts. (...)
The cards are not quite as big as the cards I have in some of my other decks, which I think makes them a little easier to handle and shuffle. This set comes with a 168 page book as well as the 78 card deck with two extra cards that have spreads outlined on them. Also included are an organdy bag and a small cardboard box (that you can decorate yourself) to hold your cards.
I really feel that this is the most beautiful Tarot deck currently on the market.
Book Review: Most visually sumptuous Tarot ever? Summary: 5 Stars
This is a commercial printing of a Tarot deck that was first hand-produced, costing hundreds of dollars. Many considered it well worth that cost. It is certainly well worth the present price! This Tarot is visually stunning, with rich colours and crisp fantasy images. Merging computer-generated or enhanced imagery with a pseudo-medieval style, this deck is fully illustrated in the Rider-Waite sense. Every card is a delight, and one can enjoy just looking as much as reading. If there is any downside here, it might be that the images are so lovely they are somewhat distracting. The 78 card deck comes in a shelfbox with an illustrated and nicely thought-out book, useful for near-beginners as well as more advanced Tarot readers. This might not be the very best "first deck" for an absolute beginner, but it should have a place in the collection of every serious Tarot reader or collector. I'm sure glad it in mine!
Book Review: A thoroughly beautiful deck! Summary: 5 Stars
These cards are stunningly beautiful - they don't speak, they sing! This is a lovely deck - the art seems to glow with a light of its own against the dark backgrounds. I found the images and design to be very pleasing to the eye, and true to the basic theme of the Rider-Waite deck, with some original and fresh differences. One thing that really impressed me about this product was the companion book. It is ideal for a beginner, because it gives a firm foundation of the structure of the Tarot and why the cards mean what they mean. The discourse about the artwork was also quite interesting and gives additional insight into the nuances of these particular cards. This deck would make a great addition to the cache of any collector of Tarot art, as well as those who use the cards for divination. Buy this deck. You will love it.
Book Review: Stunningly Beautiful Summary: 5 Stars
An absolute stunningly beautiful Tarot deck! Basically follows the tradition of the Rider Waite deck with a few exceptions (Trump 0: The Fool, Trump II: The High Priestess and Trump XIX: The Sun to name a few). However, the deck is filled with bright, vivid colors which are made even more stunning by the black border around each card. The artist really knows how to work with light and illumination (i.e., note the rays of light in the 5 of Pentacles; amazingly lifelike)! I also like the elaborate card back design as well. The deck comes with an uncomplicated book appropriate for beginners as well as seasoned readers and a little bag to hold the cards. This deck is perfect for meditation as well as readings. A+.
