Book Reviews of The GatheringBook Review: An Irish Ireland Summary: 5 Stars
Enright is a masterful writer as she describes an Irish family through one sister's eyes. It is a story about people and relationships and family, but it also is about Ireland and captures beautifully the changes in the nation and culture in recent years. It's a beautiful book, sad and not-sad at the same time, with finely-drawn characters.
Book Review: Excellent Summary: 5 Stars
Enright skillfully takes the reader inside the mind of a woman in the midst of a crisis for an intimate view of a family's history and the impact of that history on the lives of all involved. The novel is touching without being overwhelmingly sad. Brilliantly written, it's a worthwhile read that well deserves the Booker prize it received.
Book Review: Erica Asahan Review on The Gathering Summary: 5 Stars
Erica Asahan Wrote:
The narrative is superbly done. A little quirky at times. The book would be hightly charged if it had stayed in a much more contemporary context. I love the ending, very cool indeed. Great Book, I will highly recommending it to my book club members.

Book Review: This one rang true Summary: 5 Stars
Heartbreaking and beautifully written. The author paints a compelling picture of the devastation that child abuse causes to individuals and families. Also a great study in family dynamics. I can't wait to read it again -- after I pass it around to family members and friends.
Book Review: A book one wants to have Summary: 5 Stars
A intimate, very inteligently and with a lot of sensitivity written book, one you would want to have in order to be able to read it again. I am a fast reader and I've tried to slow myself down, just to make it last longer.
