Book Reviews of The Front

Book Review: Super!
Summary: 5 Stars

Cornwell did it again with this Novella! Once I picked it up I could hardly put it down, in fact, I couldn't put it down, and finished it the same day I started reading. She did a great job developing the inter-character relationships, and the tension between Win and the Monique was palpable. As always I greatly enjoyed the forensic research she did to complete this book, especially the alternative/cheaper techniques that had to be used in the FRONT truck. I would definitely recommend this book!

Book Review: A Summer Time Must!
Summary: 5 Stars

The Front is the second novella (short novel) following At Risk by Patricia Cornwell. This series unlike the Scarpetta series is more of a fast paced, page turner that is great for summer or on the go reading.
That being said, this book is not lacking in character development or complexity. It is just a shorter story which combines and old crime with a current one. The characters are unique and I enjoyed their relationships as well as the main story. Highly recommended.

Book Review: Another great serial character!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Ms. Cornwell first created an interesting, realistically-flawed character in Kay Scarpetta. Because of the humanity Patricia Cornwell included in her creation of Scarpetta, I was intrigued to repeatedly return to the story of her life. Ms. Cornwell has done it again with Win. The Front is a great, quick-read! Patricia Cornwell understands her readers, and therefore she provides them with a character that can be cheered for, questioned, and most-importantly, remembered.

Book Review: She does it again!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was delighted when I received an advanced copy of Cornwell's new Novella. I love her books, and this one was no exception. Though it was my first time meeting this new set of characters, I quickly felt that I could connect with them. Nana, though fairly eccentric, immediately won me over with her crazy antics, and steady stream of unexpected pearls of wisdom. I am most certainly going to go back in the series to read her first book with these characters, "At Risk."

Book Review: Bring it on!
Summary: 5 Stars

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book, having heard the buzz about it! It was as fabulous as my anticipation had assured me it would be. Having never read its predecessor, "At Risk", the characters were all new to me and I really enjoyed being introduced to them -- gotta love Nana! This is a quick read that moved by even faster because I lost track of my morning having gotten so into the book! I'd recommend it as a great read and I'm ordering "At Risk" now!
