Book Reviews of The FrontBook Review: second book in new series from Cornwell Summary: 5 Stars
I think this book was a great followup to the first in this series, The Front. I really enjoy these characters -- smart, sexy, sassy. The addition of Stump to the line up --complicating Monique and Win's relationship was perfect. This book has the usual Cornwell brilliance with many different crimes/incidents woven together in the end without any loose ends. I found myself imagining what the characters will look like when the Lifetime movies come out for two books. I recommend these books for a read at the beach or if you read like I do-- in the car while shuffling the kids around!
Book Review: Another Great Story Summary: 5 Stars
Having been chosen to read this book before it came out. I have to say I was impressed. The story was well written and the characters drew me in right away. As with all of her other books I was immersed in the story from page one. Win is a character that you have to take time to know, he isn't see through but is very complex. All of the other characters take time to get to know as well. The only character I didn't like was Monique Lamont although I suspect I wasn't supposed to like her. I found her character unbelievable in this day and age. Overall I would highly recommend this book.
Book Review: The Front, GREAT sequel to At Risk! Summary: 5 Stars
The Front is a great sequel to Patricia Cornwell's At Risk. We continue to follow the lives and careers of Winston Garano and Monique Lamont, as well as meet new characters. All the characters are so expertly portrayed that the reader is able to picture them as they speak to us from the pages of the book. The storyline is, at times, gripping, and flows uniformly all the way to the end of the book. Once again Ms. Cornwell has managed to keep me glued to a book from start to finish in a single day! I look forward to her next endeavor!
Book Review: Master author at the top of her game Summary: 5 Stars
The Front is a wonderful novella that continues to develop the characters found in "At Risk": Massachusetts state investigator Win Garano, D.A. Monique Lamont and Garano's grandmother, Nana. This mystery takes place in Watertown, MA when the ambitious Lamont order's Win to investigate a cold case. Typical to Cornwell, this book is a page turner and is extremely entertaining. I find her work on this new series light and enjoyable, while still shedding light on crime solving and investigations. I would recommend this book, even if you have not read "At Risk".
Book Review: Loved the characters! Summary: 5 Stars
The Front is a wonderful sequal to At Risk. Winston Garano, Lamont, Stump and Nana are wonderful characters, developed as only Patricia Cornwell is capable of doing. A terrifically developed plot that keeps the reader enthused is another hallmark of Cornwell. Gripping, exciting and humorous this is an easy read that will entertain you from the very beginning. Certainly not another Scarpetta novel...all together different and exciting in it's own way...although I do learn about crime solving in this book as well. I highly recommend this novella.
