Book Reviews of The French Chef CookbookBook Review: Great cookbook for beginners Summary: 5 Stars
Julia had a talent for teaching and attention to detail.
This was one of the first cookbooks I owned and it still
has my favorite 'fallback' recipe for flank steak in half an hour.

Book Review: What a find! Summary: 4 Stars
I just saw Julie & Julia which made me put the Mastering Volumes on my Christmas Wish List. We are on vacation in our Florida house and going to a lot of garage sales to furnish the house and imagine my surprise when I found this at an estate sale for $1, the original hardback. I havent made anything yet as I dont have all ingredients down here but love it so far. I got on here to see reviews of the Mastering series and this one to see if all are necessary and of course being the foodie that I am think I will want all 3 but sounds like this is the best of her Mastering series. Cannot wait to make some recipes. It is especially cool since I just saw the movie 3 nights ago. (And now I'm even more sold on estate sales!)
Book Review: Surprisingly Appreciated Summary: 4 Stars
With some hesitation, I gave this book to my wife as one of her Christmas presents. She had always hated cook books without photos, but she was eager to try some Julia Child recipes. She gobbled up this book - she loved the way it was written, and immediately began trying some of the dishes. We ate really well the first couple of weeks! Of the first 6 things she made, all were very good, and half were outstanding. Who knew it would be a present for me as well?
Book Review: LOVE IT Summary: 4 Stars
If you like reading about the behind the scenes of things you will enjoy this. I've read it cover to cover and have made several recipes.
