"The Flour Pot Christmas Cookie Book: Creating Edible Works of Art For the Holidays" is a holiday textbook fro imaginative cookie bakers and decorators. Written by a mother and daughter team who form a cookie boutique called The Flour Pot, "The Flour Pot Christmas Cookie Book" is filled with brilliant, inventive, designer cookies appropriate for all the winter holidays. There are snowmen, trees, doves, Santas, reindeer, Christmas lights, and also dreidels, stacks of presents, and chocolate stars of David for the Festival of Lights. There are also snow babies, sleds, and polar bears for plain winter fun, along with peekaboo snowflakes, icicles, and holly leaves. All cookie concoctions are beautifully photographed in full color, accompanied by lists of supplies and specific directions, plus comments from Margie and Abbey. At the end of the book is a section called Basics that has recipes for several cookie doughs, fondant, meringue powder royal icing, spun sugar, tips on piping and supplies, and a page of templates. "The Flour Pot Christmas Cookie Book" is a wonderful resource for the daring and imaginative holiday baker who likes to decorate beautiful cookies, or "edible works of art."
