Book Review: Simply awesome!

This was not something to tear through in a night, voraciously devouring it, like I might do with a great work of fiction... For me at least, it was more like a child with an ice-cream cone: gleefully savoring every last drop, wanting it to last, licking the sides of the cone to make sure I didn't miss anything. I oftentimes had to just put it down and walk away, to ponder what I'd read...
It's about the evolution of Quantum Physics, from it's earliest beginnings through now, and the incredible things that scientists have discovered, intuited and theorized based on that. And how the rigid and staid body of Newton-o-phile scientists and physicists push back against the findings, because it undermines everything that's been previously understood about physics, biology, the brain and how it stores memory, and reality itself.
It's told through multiple, somewhat interwoven accounts of the scientists and their discoveries, more or less following a then-to-now timeline. If you've not done much reading on Quantum Physics, but have an open mind that's not opposed to science-oriented material, this is a must-read. If you're fairly familiar with it all, I'd STILL say it's a must-read... provided you would enjoy having the gap between God (or your personal spiritual ideaology), "parapsychology" (psychic phenomenon, ESP, etc.) and science neatly closed.
The icing on the cake is, it's written by a journalist - you know, someone who actually *writes* for a living - rather than someone that's a scientist first and a writer second taking a crack at writing a book. So on top of being mind-blowingly cool and thought-provoking, it's VERY enjoyable to read, because of how well-written it is.
And don't think that just because it's written by a non-scientist that it lacks credibility or substance; to say that this Lynne McTaggart did her homework would be a gross understatement.
I would recommend this book to ANYONE, and "risk" them not liking it... because to miss any opportunity to help someone open their mind would be a shame!
