Book Review: Valuable, READABLE Summary of Recent Research

I am recommending this to all my friends. I am buying it for my adult sons.
I thought, because of its readability, that this was some pop psychology book. Instead it has excellent research tools. There are copious notes (given without numerical text citation, rather listed by page number in the end). There is an extensive bibliography. I think it has the best of both worlds: readable and interesting style, documentation that allows us to verify the infomation.
I think it is a must read for men and women.

I bought this book because my linguistics professor recommended it at the beginning of term (I ended up using it for my final paper). This book is very interesting and is organized in a way as not to be cumbersome. Louann Brizendine uses scientific evidence mixed with a bit of humor to help the reader understand the workings of the female brain (as well as the males brain) and why women are "the way we are" when it comes to particular areas of life etc. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in this area.Book Review: Now You Know

An excellent book; witty and informative. It explains what you always suspected but never knew why. Now you know that you are not alone in the ways you feel and the ways you change and best of all you will learn the reason your brain works as it does. Well written and easily understandable.
Book Review: Readable, interesting, and about me!

I really enjoyed this book - all my friends had to listen to the rave! Easy to read, and really interesting as a breastfeeding mother to see what pregnancy and breastfeeding had done to my brain. Loved the bit on children, and sex (Not looking forward to those teenage years with my girls!). I didn't like style where examples were given as 'real people' but that's a minor quibble. Read it cover to cover, and will reread again, once I have wrested it off my friends!Book Review: The Female Brain

This book was a revelation to me as a male. In spite of having a mother, a wife, a daughter, and a granddaughter, I still had no clue as to how the female brain functioned. For years I thought females were just defective males. This readable, well-written, and authoritative book provided the first glimmer of understanding for me into a complex organism: The Female Brain. Thank you, Dr. Brizendine!
