Book Review: Timeless

A beautifully structured and clearly written book about high-level concepts of typography and the finest nuances as well. My design students buy this because it is required for my class then soon discover it is a pleasure to read. They come to class excited about the readings and delve beyond what is required. I am grateful for such passion as Bringhurst brings to this field and shares poetically with us all.Book Review: The typographer's bible.

I've owned this book since my days at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA and would often go do laundry late at night and read about typography while absorbing Mr. Bringhurst's wisdom.
For any serious typophile I sincerely can not recommend a better book to add to your library as the book to teach you all you need to know about typography.

Great reference manual for years to come. I REALLY don't like the design of the cover, though; it was the weakest design out of everything else in the book. Far weaker than the perfect layout of every page inside - even the paper is top notch. GET THIS BOOK. After you read this book you will never use all those silly fonts again. If you work or ever want to work with type in a design, book, logo, etc... then this book is a must have to understand the principles beyond that of MWord and the like. Even though some parts are a bit dry, overall this book is a surprisingly enjoyable read.Book Review: A book I return to

This is one of the most beautiful mass-produced books I own, an oasis in my noisy typographical world. The content helped me, but I admit that I enjoyed it more for because of what it is rather than what he wrote. This isn't a how-to book: it's a discussion and example of a typographical belief system.
