Book Reviews of The Double Bind (Vintage Contemporaries)Book Review: Good Read Summary: 4 Stars
This one keeps you guessing until the end - a good read with interesting character development. I also liked the links to Gatsby, etc. - very cleverly done. This is not a fast-moving book, but one that tells a good story about people the author makes you care about.
Book Review: Haunting, surprising conclusion. Summary: 4 Stars
Haunting story line stayed with me for days. As a mental health professional, it was startling as well as real. The tragedy of the main character continued to build to the story's climax. Highly recommended. Would make an excellent book club selection.
Book Review: Well done, if a bit slow Summary: 4 Stars
At times this book is a little slow, and given the great twist at the end, I think it could have been written a bit more cleverly. However, the prose has a nice flow, and this is definitely worth reading.
Book Review: great twist Summary: 4 Stars
Of the three books I have read by this author, I rate it #2 (the end surprised me, which doesn't happen often). It impressed me enough that I just ordered another title by the same author.
Book Review: the double bind Summary: 4 Stars
I enjoyed this book very much and intend to read more written by this author. My friend is in the process of reading right now
