Book Review: What a Fantastic Book

I just recently finished The Double Bind and I can't explain how this book touched me. I was stunned when I finished it and as I got up to walk into the kitchen,I found I was weeping. As an aside: I was fortunate enough to have a ticket to see Chris Bohjalian when he was in Florida for a reading and he is not only a talented author, but so approachable and down-to-earth. I can hardly wait until May 6 to buy Skeletons at the Feast!Book Review: Fabulous Read!

I absolutely LOVED this book. Our book club is full of diverse tastes and everyone raved about this book - and that has probably only happened about 3 or 4 times in 8 years. I enjoyed this so much I emailed my book club friends from the caribbean to let them know I had finished it ( I was a month behind) and how right they were that it was one of our better choices. I just finished reading The Double Bind for the second time. I enjoyed the book the first time but it was totally enhanced the second time having read The Great Gatsby just before. (My book club read them back-to-back)I now have a huge appreciation for how he wove the stories together. Sometimes, I wasn't even sure what was real and what was fiction.Book Review: mind blowing- fantastic

This is an absolutely incredible book. You are drawn into the plot and characters and although you sense something is amiss- you are still blown away by the ending. I do plan on reading it again and again, and will get out The Great Gatsby- to go with it. This is a book whose characters stayed in my mind for a long time after I read it (and re-read it). It is engrossing, at times strange and enigmatic, and beautifully and compassionately written. I can't remember reading a novel where I really cared and thought about the character so intensely, for so long. Highly recommended!
