Book Reviews of The Digital Photography Book, Volume 2Book Review: Helpful and to the point. Summary: 5 Stars
Scott covers many areas and types of photography and although we are not all going to be involved in all the areas covered, it is great to learn about them, none the less. The skills can always be applied to other types of photography. For instance, we all won't work as a wedding photographer, but the majority of people will hire one at some point in life. If nothing else I would know what to look for as a consumer. The other way of looking at it is that most of us will shoot some photos at a family function of one kind or another and these are transferable skills. Scott's books always teach me something new. I was so pleased with Volumes 1 & 2 that I am now going to try his PhotoShop books. His are great "how to" manuals. I find myself using them as reference for different aspects of photography.
Book Review: If you take photos, you'll love this book--and use it! Summary: 5 Stars
Like Mr. Kelby's best-selling first Digital Photography Book, this book is a gem. Every page is a single tip, clearly explained and illustrated. It's like sitting next to the best photographer you know while he explains what gear you need, and when and how to use it. No matter what brand your camera, what level your experience, or how big your budget, you're sure to find this book useful.
Highlights of Book 2 include how to set up and use studio lighting, flash, macro photography, weddings, portraits, and much, much more. At the end are sixteen "recipes" for getting specific types of shots, with all the details you need to know.
Keep this one in your camera bag. Not only is it full of information, it's inspirational. And a great gift for the photographer in your life.
Book Review: My new bible Summary: 5 Stars
I have never written a review on Amazon so that tells you I must be really impressed with this book. I am passionate about photography as a creative outlet for myself. This book and Scotts first book really helped me take my photography to the next level. I am not an avid reader and this book is laid out perfectly because it gets straight to the point. I am the kind of person that is like just tell me how to do it already and that is what this book does. It takes you to the next level in your photography and does it by getting straight to the point. I had to go to Krakow, Poland and had just received his volumn 1 book which made a huge difference in the way I captured the experience. I am dead jealous of his skills but am so thankful for him sharing them. Thank you Scott!!

Book Review: Brilliant Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book, volume 2, and I really enjoying it. The language used in this book is easy to understand, and all that we read the jargons and technical words, Scott transtalted those words in every day english. You will not be bored at any time. On person described that Scott shows how to create a studio, and this book is for biggeners so there is not point of telling studio, but as a matter of facts even if you do not have intention of having a studio, you really want to know what it is and how much it costs. I never knew what is light meter and how does it work, next time if I go to a wedding party and a pro is using his or her light meter, I can ask the reading since I know what does that mean.
I am going to order volume One and definately will buy volume 3.
Book Review: Good thing I read this before the first volume Summary: 5 Stars
I found this book to be a good read. I've read a lot of photography books and this is one of the better ones. But, I do want to say it's a good thing I purchased volume 2 before Scott's first book. After reading this book I went ahead and purchased the first volume. Listen, Scott's jokes in his first book are somewhat overdone. It's like...give it a rest Scott, don't be so self indulgent. But I'll wait to say more on the dumb jokes on my review of volume one. Back to volume 2. There are some good gems to be found in this book and Scott has certainly toned down the self indulgent humor. I actually ordered volume 1 and 3 at the same time, although the 3rd installment hadn't been released yet. Had I read volume 1 first I'm not so sure I would have purchased this book.
