Book Review: Marriage of Convenience between a Stuttering Wallflower and an Ultimate Rake ?
Summary: 5 Stars
Viscount St. Vincent 'Sebastian' is immoral, promiscuous, rakish to the extreme and is proud of it ! It's not just his looks that makes him attractive, his notorious ways and sex escapades makes him dangerously desirable among women, added to that he has a title of a Viscount attached to his name which will make/ got him accepted to any number of Noble families as a son in-law if he'll only propose to their daughter. However Sebastian is not the marrying kind, why would he waste his youth on kinds and family ? that's extremely inconvenient for him, so he manages to escape the marriage trap for a while until his jelly muffin of a father ends up spending the family's inheritance and causing them to succumb in poverty. 'Sebastian' is desperate ! He needs money or else he can't live the leisure life he's been living before if only he could get a rich heiress to marry him his problems will be over but after kidnapping his best friend's wife there's little doubt anyone would want to marry Sebastian.
Evie Jenner is Ivo Jenner's daughter the gaming club owner (from Dreaming of You )she's in a rather desperate situation herself. After her mother's death in labor Evie has been living under the care of her mother's family who are abusive and brutal, Her father is dying and they want to force Evie into marriage with her vegetable of a cousin so that they can keep the inheritance to themselves. Evie knows she's going to die if they'll do that to her, her only solution is to find a man who is willing to marry her and so she can be under his protection 'legally' and away from her abusive relatives. Because of that 'Yup' she goes to Sebastian with a marriage offer, they strike a bargain he gets her inheritance and she gets her freedom. Sebastian agrees not because he cares about helping Evie but because he needs the money she's got to offer. But sooner or later Sebastian finds out that this stuttering wallflower has a strange effect on him, he can't help it she does things to his inside, but that can't be possible he's the ultimate rake ! He vowed to be a rake forever ! How can a bit of a girl affect him this much ??
What a sweet story ! I Loved every part of it ! It's really cute when a bad boy who doesn't care about anyone's feelings gets to care for another person just for once in his life. Sebastian and Evie are both strong, willing characters and are very likable. They communicate with each other easily and there's no stupid misunderstanding. I found the part where Sebastian always tries to prove that he is a villain rather Humorous. You also meet some secondary characters from previous books like Lord Westcliffe from It Happened One Autumn (The Wallflowers, Book 2) and Again The Magic (which I personally didn't care for). This is the third book in the wallflower series but I guess it can be considered in the Gambler's series too considering that almost 3/4 of the book takes place in a gambling club.
Well I know we all love Rakes ! Especially when they finally Reform :) and Sebastian is probably one of the best Reformed Rakes I've ever read about :) So I would recommend you read this book because its one of Kleypas's best !

A devil's bargain
Easily the shyest Wallflower, Evangeline Jenner stands to become the wealthiest, once her inheritance comes due. Because she must first escape the clutches of her unscrupulous relatives, Evie has approached the rake Viscount St. Vincent with a most outrageous proposition: marriage!
Sebastian's reputation is so dangerous that thirty seconds alone with him will ruin any maiden's good name. Still, this bewitching chit appeared, unchaperoned, on his doorstep to offer her hand. Certainly an aristocrat with a fine eye for beauty could do far worse.
But Evie's proposal comes with a condition: no lovemaking after their wedding night. She will never become just another of the dashing libertine's callously discarded broken hearts -- which means Sebastian will simply have to work harder at his seductions...or perhaps surrender his own heart for the very first time in the name of true love.
