Book Reviews of The Dark TideBook Review: Gelati's Scoop Summary: 3 Stars
I really enjoy finding new books to read. I had read Andrew Gross' work in the past, and had not even really known it. He has penned many books with James Patterson. The way I found out about Dark Tide was he friended me on Facebook and I read his bio .Enjoying the Patterson books, I quickly got a hold of Dark Tide. I was not disappointed.
The characters and setting of the book have depth and a life to them that just wants to leap from the page. The color of the book, red, is appropriate because this is one hot book. The action from beginning to end is quick and well paced. Andrew Gross' Dark Tide has been the #1 down loaded Kindle for 4 weeks in a row to date, not too shabby.
Reckless is Andrew Gross's newest novel. Having read as many books by Gross as I now realize that I have, with his track record of excellence and his well paced novels, there is not a thought in my mind that I am going to get anything but pure enjoyment from his latest offering. Do you have a favorite Andrew Gross novel?

Book Review: Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, Karen, Karen, Karen, Ty, Ty, Ty, Ty, Saul, Saul, Saul Summary: 3 Stars
The plot was good and the book was well researched. However, the writing was a bit on the ridiculous side with dangling prepositions (within the narrative) so that it was hard to follow at times, and repetitive use of the characters' names every other sentence (within the dialogue). This was very distracting and irritating. The main character even continued to talk to her husband in this manner after he was dead with repeats of, "Why, Charlie, why? Why did you do it, Charlie"
It would perhaps be understandable if the author made one character speak this way, but EVERYBODY in the book spoke the same way to each other. All of the men called each other "guy" which I thought was a little weird. And the f-bomb spewing out of this supposedly upper-class loving wife and mother when she wasn't even upset made no sense. Maybe the author forgot to let us know she was originally trailer trash and Charles met her in a bar.
This is just further proof you don't have to be a good writer to be on the best seller list.
Book Review: enjoyable fast read Summary: 3 Stars
I won't go into the plot. It's already been repeated by other reviewers. If you are thinking of reading this book, but want to know more about the story, look at some of the plot reviews.
I'm adding a review because, like many other people I flat out enjoyed this book. - it's fun to read.
It had a lot of action with enough suspense to keep you interested in it.
The only drawback is that I found the climactic ending very predictable. Also, some of the plot twists were a tad silly and not very realistic, which is why I only give it three stars. That being said. I like the author's writing style and the manner in which he developed his characters and I did enjoy this book so I would definitely recommend it.
Book Review: Easy to know where it was going Summary: 3 Stars
"The Dark Tide" is a thriller that seems to follow the basic formulas that makes for an average story. The story opens with a terrorist attack on a commuter train from Connecticut to Grand Central Station in New York City. It brings back memories of 9/11 which is still sensitive to me. The hedge fund administrator/husband who disappears after the blast leaves so many unanswered questions for his wife to figure out. Unfortunately, I figured them out why before she did. I think Andrew Gross is a good writer and it shows in the writing of this book, but he needs to stay away from formula based stories.
Book Review: Hilarious!!! Summary: 3 Stars
Halfway through, i started reading reviews on here, and noticed the ones about the repeated names in the dialogue. It is so true and once you pay attention is it hilarious to read. The characters were also unremarkable and in the detective's case, unbelievable. But hey; its a thriller and the plot had me interested to get to the end, so I give it a decent review. But once reviewers pointed out the writing idiosyncrasies, I laughed more than anything through the last third of the book. If you are a fan of the genre, read it. If you are looking for a good book, pass.
