Book Review: best little reference book

I had been 'stuck' in crocheting scarves, attempting hats, trying to decypher patterns and had 'put away' my crocheting projects until recently when my friend and I were attempting wash rags. She is a knitter and I, the crocheter....I decided to become pro active in pushing thru my road bumps on this supposedly relaxing past time! I went to book stores, checked reviews online and the Cross Stitch Bible was my choice of passage.
I have used it now for less than a month but have NO PROBLEM understanding the instructions for the stiches. Everything is explained in layman's terms and pictures and photos help unravel my mistakes. I am more of a visual and active learner so this book works wonders for my lack of experience.
I would highly recommend this book for any level as it covers over 200 old and new stiches PLUS it is small enough to fit in my craft bag so it is with me all the time!
I would also recommend The Crochet Answer Book by Edie Eckman. No bigger than a 3 x 5 photo it also has been a blessing of explaining things I couldn't work thru with before. It covers everything from what hooks to use, what yarn to use, tension and gauge, shaping, pattern language, shape crocheting...awesome 'answer' book!
