Book Reviews of The Corinne T. Netzer Dieter's DiaryBook Review: This is the One I Use, and I've Used Them All - 5 Stars!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
There are some thorough reviews of this product, so I will not be repetitive and will come at this from another angle. First of all if you are looking at a product like this, it is because you feel you need to change something, or better yet, you need help. I am the same way. These are some tips I have found useful in looking for an organizer and since this one fulfills my requirements you will see why I keep using it.
1) Perfection is the enemy of the good. Sometimes when things are just too complex, you are not going to touch it. How many millions of people, who owned the old VCR tape machines, always had the clock set to 12:00 because they simply did not want to get involved with the machine? The same is true of a working book like the Dieter's Diary, unless it's simple, you are not going to touch it. This one is simple.
2) Is it easy to carry? Do you want a diary that you have to lug around with you or something that is small enough to be workable? Do you carry around a 13 pound personal computer, or a 4 pound PC? It's the same thing. This diary is thin enough to carry around with you. You could put it in the inside pocket of suit jacket if you wanted to. Put it in a purse - no problem.
3) Do you want to carry around a full year's worth of notes or is 16 weeks, with a day devoted to each side of the page enough? That's what you have here. Yes, you will have to buy 4 books to complete a year, but let me let you in on a secret. You can bet money that nobody keeps this kind of job going for a year, and it is a job. You just need to get started. Create new habits, keep records for a while and then let it go. The habits will carry on, if you have made them a deep part of your consciousness.
The LAYOUT
This book contains 176 pages that includes about 40 pages of calorie counting. That means you can look up pork chop and it will tell you how many calories are in 4 ounces or 16 ounces, and it will also tell you the difference depending upon how you cook it. I frankly do not need the extra 40 pages of thickness, but for many, it's a nice and helpful touch.
There are 7 pages of daily progress. At the end of the seven days, there is a summary sheet which is for your weekly progress. It's in a report form, and it is helpful. On your daily progress sheets, you have your date on the left, and then down the vertical side of the page are five captions with room to write in notes. The captions are
* Breakfast
* Lunch
* Dinner
* Snacks
* Comments
If you write small, there is plenty of room to fit in what you are eating. On the right hand side of the page, are lines to write in your calorie count. I choose not to do it. If you weigh yourself every morning, you already know if you are taking in too many calories, or too little.
If I may be permitted to give you a tip that I learned long ago. It is both terribly easy to take off weight, and to put it on. You simply take in fewer calories than you need to support your current weight, and it will fall off you. It's really that simple. One more point. If you take it off too quickly, it will come roaring back, no ifs, ands, or buts. The body seeks to find what it has lost, so you must take it off slowly, to fool the body. If the body feels it is being starved, it will do whatever it must do to put the weight back on.
CONCLUSION:
If you are serious about changing your weight, up or down, you must use a book like this or similar to this, to begin to alter your calorie intake. Once you do it for a while you will not need to continue its use. If you reach your desired weight and then you start to change again, simply pick up a fresh copy of this book and go back to the basics. For me, no other book has worked quite as well as this one. I am always on the lookout for what's new, but it seems that NEW IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER. I wish you good luck in sculpting your new body, and thank you for reading this review.
