Book Review: A fun, enlightening, and thorough read
Summary: 5 Stars
It goes without saying that if you value scientific consensus and avoid jumping to quick conclusions, you should be very careful in reviewing the scientific case for PSI before making a judgment about whether you think it exists. That said, this book would be a fantastic resource in learning about PSI and the evidence for it. Radin writes thoroughly and clearly; he makes his position explicit ("PSI exists, and there is ample evidence proving so, and I'll show it to you") and keeps open the intellectual space for the reader to think for themself (which is more than I would say for many science writers!). He explains the principles of robust research and statistical analysis in terms that make this book accessible to the layman with no research experience, and yet the read is fast-paced and intellectually challenging. I've actually learned a lot about the reasoning behind the way science works by reading this book.
In short: challenging yet respectful, provocative yet open-minded, clear yet thorough, funny yet purposed. I would highly recommend The Conscious Universe.
