Book Reviews of The Complete PersepolisBook Review: Delightfully Creative Summary: 5 Stars
This book provides a wonderful window into the culture, people, and history from the perspective of an Iranian woman. This story represents the story of countless other Iranians as they must search for a better today outside of their country. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Iran and is looking for an entertaining, yet sobering story of a growing up in Iran.
Book Review: Borders in store buy 4 get on free offer Summary: 5 Stars
When I included this and Maus 1 & Maus 2 I was informed that they are not grpahic novels and that I could not have one free. AMAZING! Of course after I asked for the distric manager's name/numner there was a sudden change of heart BUT NOT a good instore experience from BORDERS at ALL. The GRAPHIC NOVEL is great. Borders are not.
Book Review: An excelent book, a work of art Summary: 5 Stars
I saw the movie first and thought it was very good, a real eye opener and even thought its a dramatic story, you get a few laughs...but the book (as it often happens) goes much deeper into the story (and has some extra laughs).....I loved it...even if you don't like to read a lot...it's a comic, so it's quite easy to read.
Book Review: A wonderful book... Summary: 5 Stars
It's not only a great story, but it also is complimented by the visuals. This book is extra special to me because i can relate to a lot of what she went through during her years in europe. When she says she feels like a foreigner out of her country and in her country. It's just a great read. Now I want to watch the movie.
Book Review: Excellent read! Summary: 5 Stars
This was my first current-day book on Iran and I loved it. Marjane's telling of her life story is wonderful, especially in graphic form. I've never read a graphic novel and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and passing it on to others. Everyone in America should read this book and learn what life is like in Iran.
