Book Reviews of The Complete Conversations with God

Book Review: How To Upset the Status Quo
Summary: 5 Stars

Write a few books and tell everyone flat out you're having a "conversation with God"....

I know that this is kind of an unpopular opinion, I believe that all inspired writing is from God. Whether that be the Bible or Ralph Waldo Emerson or Neale Donald Walsch or even John P. Morgan...uhhhh...that would be me.

What makes Neale Donald Walsch's books so icredibly great as well as so incredibly upsetting to many is that he dared to write a book based on a conversation he really felt he was having with God. I believe that God is talking to all of us all the time but a lot of us tune down the conversation to an inaudible volume and a lot of us tune the conversation completely out. People mention the Bible as the inspired word of God...yes, yes it was...but I know that this may sound like a shock to a lot of you, but it, too was written by men and just like in Conversations With God, there may be a few parts that are flawed and over-exaggerated, but the same can be true of the Bible. I don't believe that every single word of the Bible is "Divinely Inspired". Some of the authors of the various books were very biased and prejudiced and sexist. But there are parts of the Bible that are incredibly beautiful. The 23rd Psalm is one of the loveliest passages in the whole book and no matter how many times I've read it, I find it all the more lovely because when I am truly in a state of "Oneness" with my Creator, there really is nothing I could want, need, or desire. God's Grace truly is my sufficiency.

I find a lot of passages in this marvelous collection incredibly inspiring and while we are talking about being inspired, do you know that it literally means to "be in Spirit". We can all be inspired simply by choosing to be in Spirit rather than in the world. As Jesus said from a rather inspired place, "Be in the world, but not of it..." and he also said, "Judge not by appearances..."

You see, when I am truly inspired, i know that i am still in the world, but I don't have to be of it. I do not have to focus on greed, or lack, or disease...I can focus on health, prosperity, and plenty. In other words, I can focus on the truth that God is always and in all ways filling my cup to overflowing. I do not believe in a stingy God or a begrudging God; I believe in a Whole and Holy God that made everyone and everything out of Its Wholeness...out of Its Holiness...another inspired passage from Revelation: "Behold, I make all things new...'

This book will push you to the edge and may even tip you over the edge. If you are reading these books and becoming agitated and upset, maybe you need to ask yourself why that is. Maybe you aren't too grounded in your beliefs. Remember this, Jesus ticked off a few people in his time, too. All great people who have a great message to convey will upset other people. Why? Because great people usually listen to their hearts, their souls, their Inner Guides...they aren't afraid to be inspired...they aren't even afraid to die for what they believe in because you can kill the messenger, but you cannot kill the message.

Mr. Walsch, I salute the incredible work you put into these books. Thank you for listening to your heart. Thank you for helping me to become just a little more inspired.

We are all One in God now....peace and blessings, everyone...

Book Review: I hope it replaces the Bible and all religious dogma
Summary: 5 Stars

I debated whether to give this book a 4 or 5 star and chose a 5 for the same reason I would have given it a 4. The five was chosen because the books pound the words in your head, a 4 would have been chosen for thinking it was too wordy. But, the result was the point was made clearly and I do appreciate that.

People swamped in religious dogma, which I was for decades, probably won't like his books. People wanting real answers to today's problems will see his books speak truth on the problems with our beautiful planet and ways to answer those problems. Understanding how terrifying it can be to open your eyes to what religion is really about, I would hope others who read this will walk away and digest his words knowing his words truly could heal the planet and the lies and superstitions that permeate churches, governments, corporations and more.

Having the church ways in my life for nearly 5 decades and finally walking away due to my heart not being able to accept the separation of you vs me, the plunder of the planet, the backing of wars, and the long list of religious atrocities going on (all in the name of God), finding his books and others like it was truly a God send to me. It was what I had been longing for.

If you are tired of trying to make yourself believe the "bible God" this book is for you. If you are disgusted with religion and it's demented ideas of holiness this book is for you. If you refuse to believe only certain people are making it to "heaven", again, this book is your answer.

But, if you like being separate, if you hope certain people are hell bound, if you want things to keep rocking on the way they are, you won't like this book.

This book rings to my soul what I always wished a God was really like. This book spoke to me as if all my dreams were coming true. To me there really was another person out there who thought like I did. There really was someone who understood what real justice was.

I also recommened two free online books "Message of a Master" by John Mcdonald and "Your Inner Power" by Geneiveve Berhend, and please add "You are God" by Story Waters along with Story's Messiah Seed book.

If you are ready for a spiritual world to develop that leaves behind dogma and tyranny, it's out there. I keep my Conversations With God and my books from Story Waters on my night stand (where my Bible use to be) and they are high lighted, underlined and have many notes in them just like my Bible. My hope for the world would be all people coming together to work for the healing of our earth and each other. Where there's a will, there's a way. But, at this point there is not a will for greed, selfishness and above all else--fear rules in the hearts of many people. Hopefully, this changes soon.

Book Review: Inspirational, Liberating, Resounding of Truth
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought the combined, three Conversations with God books and read each book, one after the other in order without stopping to read anything else for weeks. I found all the conversations with God to be inspiring, liberating, and resounding with truth.

The questions asked by Walsch were questions I would ask of God, myself. The answers given were, in every case, ultimately inspirational. I was very encouraged by the Words of God in the books. Yes, I just wrote "...the Words of God..." because I believe they are. How can I state that? How can I know that? What does any of us know, really, when we frame our knowledge with pessimism, cynicism, and pragmatism in such as way as to negate anything that we cannot readily experience with our five senses? But then, what do we feel to be true, to have the resounding ring of truth, when we allow ourselves to experience the world with everything that we are? In other words, those with a closed mind will possibly find the books to be nonsense, or might even feel anger about the books. I read the books again, the second time, playing the devil's advocate, with a critical mind. I was still inspired, and could find nothing that that did not serve my higher physical and spiritual being.

The books were liberating for me, because I have long felt and believed these things to self-evident, but able to express my beliefs with few people. I have lived in a world of people who believe what they are told by religion, politics, sciences, etc, and rarely think for themselves. The books broke through the walls that have held back loving reason in spirituality, helped me realize my own voice through the Walsch's questions, and verify that which I had held true on the deepest levels. For instance, God reminds us that there is no hell. I have long believed, despite popular Christian beliefs, that God would have neither have need nor desire for hell. Hell is a human-created, fallacious idea designed to control people through fear.

As I re-read many parts of the books, I have never found anything that would work against my being of a higher mind. Over and over again, the words in the books resounded with God's truth. The books are obviously divinely inspired. I regularly refer to the books for various reasons, and constantly find answers to questions, inspiration, occasionally solace.

I hope that everyone in the world reads the Conversations with God books, and sincerely gives the truth within them an opportunity to free their minds from the misinformation and misunderstanding prevalent throughout the world's religions.

With love, Pam.

Book Review: Disregard negative comments--read it for yourself first
Summary: 5 Stars

"The Complete Conversations with God" gives humanity, at long last, an overdue change in our outlook of religion, and weens us away from the popular belief that God is an old, white-bearded man sitting in the clouds, either punishing us or rewarding us depending upon our actions. These are absurd allegations anyway, yet they stuck with us for years and years and years, mainly due to religious indoctrinations.

For the curious or hopeful purchaser: the works are deeply involved with questions and answers about humanity's stretch over the ages, about right and wrong decisions (ethics and morality), what was actually the word of God, and addresses many other points.

As for me, it encompassed a vision of a God I could fall in love with spiritually. I hold this view of God in stark contrast with the old version--

*God
*All-powerful
*All-knowing
*Is everywhere
*Created us
*Loves us

*and...because of Adam and Eve eating an apple, punished the whole human race...?

1) If God was All-knowing, then he/she would've known beforehand that they were going to eat the apple. Why would he even act angry??
2) As the scripture puts it Adam and Eve "offended" God. HA, how could we, as God's very creations, ever offend such an entity? God is well above that. If we all truly knew what and who God is, then we would never again be stuck in mind-sets of fear.
3) Lastly, the information will sound blasphemous to the "pious". All I can say is, get over it. Keep in mind Galileo's early discovery of the positions of the cosmos was criticized, too.

I highly recommend this book to others.

***Note: You will find it hard to benefit from these teachings if you are not open-minded. If you shut yourself out to possibility and keep a skeptical mindset about the information within, and the manner in which it was acquired, then you will have gained nothing, and lost money on this invaluable spiritual investment.***

Book Review: glad i purchased
Summary: 5 Stars

Im very happy with my purchase - complete conversations with god - i think it's very well presented, and i especially love the different colour print to differentiate each 'speaker', in my opinion, it's much better than printing each name before each dialogue, - it just looks more 'fluid' - the 'conversation' flows better !! I checked other reviews before purchase and I nearly did'nt buy on the basis that it was a big heavy cumbersome book for carrying - which IS true, it's a bit like carrying a dictionary around !- but if you love the book that won't bother you, - it does'nt bother me at all .The edges of the pages don't seem to be cut cleanly....just something i noticed. The only other thing i would say, and its on other reviews aslo , is that i agree, the term 'boxed set' is misleading; a 'set' indicates more than one book- maybe the term 'one boxed volume'? might be better? or 'one volume - boxed'?
Whatever.... It was not clear immediately that it was one book, i had to read the detail a few times to know this.
Otherwise, as i have already said, i am glad i chose it,- I can't compare it to the original 3 books because i have never seen them.
It's a very 'handsome' book to have on you bookshelf; as for the content;
it has already helped me in some ways,I'm suspending the 100% belief that the author is actually talking to god, but that depends on the day !!
I would naturally be suspicious and sceptical, but this is very believable!! either ways it gives food for thought, even if you don't believe it's god...put it another way,...i'd rather see a whole bunch of adults reading this than reading material promoting a greedy, secular, disconnected, 'how i look', limited , society - maybe all readers of cwg should band together to begin change??????? cheers. helen ward
