Book Reviews of The Celestine Prophecy

Book Review: 5 STARS, BUT DON'T TAKE IT TOO SERIOUSLY
Summary: 5 Stars

I read this book, on a "chance" recommendation from a total stanger at the market. Most of my reading was on a commuter train going and returning from work. At least 80 people came up to me in the few days it took to read and shared their experiences with the book. I have never before or since has this reaction to any book.

It must be agreed that this book is an allegory. Taken in this form, and melding the insights into everyday life, will definately give one a fresh perspective on viewing the world.

The message is simple and pure. The writing style is breezy. Life may not be as simple as the book portrays, but it sure would be nice if it was.

The only negative comment I have personally heard about this book came from a reverend who felt threatened by the message. As he put it, "Where would I be, if everyone communicated with God and "nature" without formal church direction?"

Where indeed?

Book Review: The book changed my life - the way of looking at people.
Summary: 5 Stars

Even after about 5 years, this book still rates number one whenever i talk about 'life changing books'. This is the only fiction book i've ever read. I generally read non-fiction: autobiography, spiritual books. This is a spiritual book - i always go back to this book for spiritual, philosophical and cultural discussion with friends. It can only bring the best out of a person, out of a friend, an acquantance, even an 'enemy'. I cannot say enough good about this book, i just wish my mom would read it if i can find a copy translated into the Chinese language. But, i know my mother is not insterested in reading any of the spiritual books - whether it is the Bible or any Taoist books. If my mom would choose to read this book, we can be better friends. This is a book of both [upmost enjoyment] (like taking a real trip physically, a great break from work and daily living in a big city) and [peace and enlightment]. I thank the author!

Book Review: A powerful book for those who are searching
Summary: 5 Stars

Many may disagree with me but I think this book is good for those who are damaged by religion. If we as humans don't believe in a god, somehow we create one to believe that there is something more out there. This book encourages spiritual awarness within all of us. I truely believe this book is fictional and this did not happen in factual accounts as the book is trying to imply. I believe James Redfield is trying to convey a message and the message is a powerful one. I feel he had to get his message across through an action filled fictional adventure. Like most of the stories of the bible is filled with action, lust and adventure. I'm not trying to compare this book to the bible but I think he got his idea based on the bible's formula of interest. This book is great for those who are searching for knowledge of the spirit and a spiritual awareness within.I believe life is a journey not a destination especially a journey of ones' spirit.

Book Review: Read the book and see for yourself!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an excellent read. I do not understand why so many negative commentators focused on the context intstead of the content. What does the mispelling of words have to do with the overall message. I bet you that these same individuals believe that CIVILIZATION started in the Fertile Crescent and not the Nile Valley. To simply base your whole theory on Hunter Gatherers is preposterous. Yet people belive in what Jarod Diamond wrote.

Why not believe in something credible. Like self knowledge, helping out those in need and living life positively. Insights that Mr Redfield wrote about. You have to believe that the manuscripts are in fact real and that Mr Redfield did not conjure up these insights solely for monetary reasons. Obviously we live in an imperfect world and that there will always be someone who thinks that the world is perfect. For those of you who are openminded, please read the Celestine Prophecy.

Book Review: The greatest parable ever told
Summary: 5 Stars

The last few reviews that gave this book a one star are very disappointing. If you don't like a book, at least give some valid reasons as to why. Or give a few things that the book could have had. Those last few reviews didn't even give even one single reason, which is very unhelpful.

I think this book is the greatest parable ever told since it combines many great spiritual and metaphysical and mystical truths into one great story. The plot and the narrative of course isn't the best, but the spiritual aspects of it are absolutely splendid. The great thing about this book is that it puts very complicated ideas that most people would consider esoterical into a form that any layperson could understand. When I read this book, I was amazed at how much in common my own personal philosophies, which I developed independently, had with this book. Hope everyone at least gives this book a chance.

Thanks, Winston
