Book Reviews of The Celestine ProphecyBook Review: You get out of it what you put into it Summary: 5 Stars
Looking over the reviews of this book shows a definitive difference of opinion. There are as many 10's and 9's are there are 1's and 2's. If you read books to be entertained, specifically to have an intricate plot lead you through an exciting tale, TCP may not be for you. While an open mind is important, it is more important to read this book for its message than its story. While the plot leaves something to be desired and Redfield lacks style, the message is invaluable. One doesn't have to believe in auras and energy fields to gain insight from TCP. Redfield's ideas mix modern thought with modern science in order to encourage a better way of life. If one reads TCP with the desire to improve themselves and change their way of living, they stand to gain alot from TCP or, more specifically, through their interpretations of its message. For people who HAVE read TCP, notice the control dramas being played out within the reviews. (see, there are practical, everyday applications of TCP's message.)
Book Review: YOU ARE NOT READY Summary: 5 Stars
I was amazed and shocked at all the negative reviews for this book, but in my quest for understanding I realised something.....THIS BOOK WILL ONLY BE OF USE TO YOU WHEN YOU ARE READY TO MAKE A CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE. If you are reading this book and it does not move you. Put it down and pick it back up when you can give it your undivided attention. It took me two years to actually read this book. It is a really interesting book, but the fact of the matter is that I was not ready to change. I was truly content to wallow in my state. But when I felt that I had had enough, I remembered where I had placed the book and it read it . All of a sudden it made sense and I found the writing to be truly inspirational. If you haven't experienced this sensation, then YOU WERE NOT READY. Too often we try to rush things in our life and it never works out the way we want it to. But I have discovered that the message in this book came right on time (well at least for me).
Book Review: It's about the BIG PICTURE. Summary: 5 Stars
This book may be hard to swallow if read literally, but I don't think that was the author's intent. What I got out of the book is that the Earth is one living organism, and each of us must give and take to make the system work. This includes everything from how we raise our children to how we use natural resources. Humanity has made so many advances in the past 1000 years--we have explored most of our planet, developed new technologies, and are extending our reaches into the universe. But has our humanity kept up with our intellect? We still fight over territories, poverty and illness are still major concerns, and our resources are running out. Has our behavior, as a race, changed over the past 1000 years to keep pace with our technology? This is the issue at the heart of the book. I hope this book makes you think about your values and priorities in life. We all have the same finite amount of energy and time each day. How we spend it CAN make a difference.
Book Review: Excellent book written on a universal level Summary: 5 Stars
Many of the complaints about this book that I have seen refer to the simplified writing style. What those folks don't seem to realize is that this book was not written for the elite--Redfield wrote it on a universal level so that all age groups and people of many education levels could understand the beautiful and important messages. There are many adults who have a difficult time reading the harder material who could benefit from the insights. As for those who complain about the "obviousness" of the insights--most truths are obvious, but, as the saying goes, many people cannot see the forest for the trees. We all need to be reminded of the "obvious" things pointed out by Redfield. I think we would all do well to examine ourselves and the way we treat others! This book is a real eye-opener, and it will be at the top of my holiday shopping list--at least 5 copies that I know of will be distributed to friends and family!
Book Review: Love and Light Summary: 5 Stars
What a beautiful fable James Redfield has written to convey Universal Truths. This story is simply captivating! I think this is a book best given to those who are at the beginning stages of their spiritual journey, to those want to learn and to those who are ready to open their eyes. The nine insights are undeniable Truths that we can employ in our everyday life to help us to be more loving and effective beings. Although the ending is perhaps a little over-imaginative, the principles taught within this tale are invaluable to our spiritual evolution. You know when you are hearing the Truth because everything seems familiar, like you have already heard or read these words before - but you can't think where you read it or who told you. That is because this book is just reminding the Soul of what it knows naturally BEFORE we are conditioned by the world we live in. The Celestine Prophecy is essential for inner growth and development. A beautiful first step.
