Book Reviews of The Celestine ProphecyBook Review: Adventure with Substance Summary: 5 Stars
I found the author's approach of presenting universal spiritual truth in novel adventure form very original and entertaining. Some of the spiritually oriented books I read were tough to go through because of their dry presentation -- Mr. Redfield could have presented it "Here is the Manuscript, here are the insights, I hope you learn something."
I am not one to critique style unless I can write better, and besides, this book is to be picked up for its substance (the value of the offered spiritual teaching), not its stylistic prowess -- even the style I enjoyed because it's an easy read, but that's me.
As some predict, after the information age, it's going to be the spiritual age (sure hope so), and this book, although presented as fiction, is based on age-old truths and makes for a great primer for the new era.
For those of you out there that are just awakening right now, read this book. For those of you that have already awakened and are looking for further practical spiritual development, read this book. I am planning on reading this book again, and I definitely recommend it.
Book Review: Beyond the Fiction Summary: 5 Stars
A friend of mine told me about this book when it was a best-seller in hardcover form ten years ago. She said the story told would heighten my spiritual awareness and she was right. I remember my mind probing deeper with questions as I read further, and came to find a greater sense of inner-peace. The insights revealed will help any willing person understand their purpose in life and why they were created. Of course this book sparked some controversy as the organized religions detested any book that might be suggestive of minimizing or even bashing the meanings of God and religion. I found that not to be the case with this book. James Redfield is profound as an author who further discovered his own spiritual journey as he wrote his great novel. Like many authors of spiritual insight and personal growth(Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer, and Deepak Chopra to name a few)this book doesn't claim to have a greater stake on the meanings of life, but it does teach about it. Even if you're left with nothing but more questions when you finish, then your mind has at least begun to think deeper than before.
Book Review: It was not a coincidence that this book came to me Summary: 5 Stars
This book was given to me by a good friend of mine at work whom I talked to regularly about thing's that bother me. She thought this book would help me see thing's in a different way and she was right. All I can really say is I haven't experenced many of the insights that this book talk's about, but the one thing that keeps me reading the follow-up series is one thing. As soon as I finished reading the last few pages of this book I "coincidentaly", meet a person who had all of the follow up series and all we could talk about was how we both felt that we are all going back to where we once came from and now I'm reading the tenth insight which is reinforcing this belief. I can't say how much truth there is in these books, but so far the book has changed my minds eye to percieve thing's differently and I plan on reading all I can on this subject. If anything these series does show people the problems in the world and teaches us all how to appreciate life for what it's worth and for that reason alone it's deffinetly worth our time.
Book Review: Not by chance...but by design. Divine synchronicity. Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent, enjoyable read and journey. I am not a fan of fiction, although an avid reader I prefer non-fiction...I want facts...solid evidence...not fantasy. I was so sure that the Celestine Prophecy was a biographical account of a real man's journey that I was dumb-founded to find it was fiction. I had even written the publisher to confirm whether this was true. When I had asked the person who recommended this book if they knew that it was fiction they responded, "What difference does it make?" How true! This book is so marvelously written, it's insights are deep and universal that anyone open to it's message will close the book's last page feeling lighter and wiser for the journey. This book is for anyone seeking a greater understanding of themselves and those who ponder the questions, "Who am I? Why am I here?" Theists and atheists alike will glean something from this book. It's one of the few books I've ever given as a gift and still do 10 years later. It remains one of my all time favorites. A true literary treasure.
Book Review: it just is Summary: 5 Stars
The Celestine Prophecy is so much more then 'just a book' could ever be...The way this book will affect you will depend on what kind of eyes you are viewing it with. If you are only reading it becasue you are tired of ppl talking about (and feeling inadequete becasue you can not participate in the conversations) then you will no doubt get exactly what you are looking for...jsut a book, no big deal..perhaps you may even find things that enable you to show your friends how much you know about "books". But that is not the point. If you read this with an open mind and fresh eyes you will not really be able to miss the message..dont look for it, just read and relate..not the words necesarilly but the meaning. just the fact that ppl DO talk about it...... well if you read it you will know what that means. Dont look to it as a bible (unless you want to), as a life fixer(unless you want to), as anything...just read it as it is..and hopefully you will 'get' some understanding from it all . its a beginning PEACE
