Book Reviews of The Celestine Prophecy

Book Review: Enjoyable read
Summary: 5 Stars

I hope that readers will not count this book about due to the other critics on this site. This book helped me understand others and myself better. It would have been a personal tragedy if I would have closed my mind off to the whole book just because some parts were either unrealistic or oversimplified. After I finished the insight on human drama I went to a party and it was fantastic. I was watching all the social interactions with insight I've never had before and I haven't ever been able to achieve again. Not because the book did all of the work, by far it did not, but because it got me to thinking and really looking at parts of myself and why I am the way I am. Once I understood parts of my own past and how they affected me I looked at others with new understanding. So I suppose this book is just what you make of it. Now that I look back at the book and how it affected me I realize that as I was reading it I would stop frequently to write and work out what the book was causing me to think about. So I suggest to those interested in this book to just enjoy the relevant points and throw out the rest. Its, in my mind, definitely worth reading.

Book Review: Very important...
Summary: 5 Stars

Okay, perhaps the story isn't any more insightful than the latest occurances on Days of Our Lives. Who cares. The purpose of this book isn't to be a literary revelation... It's a spiritual one. Take a moment and read the reviews that follow(or at least as many as you can). You'll notice that people either love it or hate it. If you read "The Celestine Prophecy" closely enough, you'll know why this is so...and that reason is crucially important for all of us to understand. Let's keep things in perspective here...Look at the nuber of copies sold worldwide! Look at the number of reviews presented here! This book is having major implications around the world, and at an extremely appropriate time. It has given people an appreciation for themselves, their environment, and the people around them, and as far as I'm concerned, there can never be anything wrong with that. My life was changed forever by reading this book...as well as millions of others' have been. Above all, this is an important work for the spiritual to reaffirm themsleves, the lost to find hope, and most critically essential to the lot of us in between.

Book Review: A breath of relief in a soffocating world
Summary: 5 Stars

The Celestine Prophecy is not the best novel ever written, in fact to some it may seem hookie. What was great about this book, and in my opinion any book, was that it helped me grasp many of the ideas that had been swimming around in my head but could not be put into a working formula. Its one of those books that makes you say "yeah, I knew that, but I couldn't find the words." As the story unfolds so do aspects of the reader's self. Each chapter, or insight, revealed something new about who I was and who I wanted to be.
Many of the ideas discussed in this book are nothing new. They are at the core of many eastern philosophies and are heavily influenced by mysticism. But who cares! Each interpretation of these ideas is in its own way unique. Its like listening to a radio station that plays a certain jeanra of music: each song has a common feel and yet each has its own personality.

All in all, it may not be a literary masterpiece but The Celestine Prophecy is a must read. It will move you in places that have been forgotten, ignored, or that have been suffocoated by the monotonies of western culture and idealogy.

Book Review: Fiction or Non-Fiction? The Insights are real with truth!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a fantastic read, great for anyone looking for an intro book to widen their persective on their own personal spiritual journey. The Insights are definitely true for their truth matters on our levels of awareness and higher degrees of personal evolving consciousness. Truths that are in this book will be different for each individual, but the reality of the insights is not fiction in my view. You will see these Insights directly behaving in your own life if you are open, non-judgemental enough to see these higher signals that are always occuring around us. If you finish reading it and are futher interested look into the Theosophical Society which is what Carl Gung was a part of. The second Insight I believe is based off his work of sychronicity(coincidences). I also would recommend "Way of the Peaceful Warrior", "The Alchemist", "Ishmeal", Also read into Karen Armstongs "The Great Transformation" which should be coming out soon, that talks of "Axial Ages" how we are currently in the midst of society obtaining higher levels of awareness and spitituality. I bid you peace on your search journey. Namaste'

Book Review: A very inspiring tale!
Summary: 5 Stars

I understand why some people rate this book very highly while others rate it very low. If you have been exploring the deeper meaning of life and your own psyche for a while already, this book seems too simplistic, pop-culturish, and beginner oriented and perhaps somewhat misleading. If you are beginning the search for deeper meaning, this book is interesting, exciting, inspirational, and spiritually enlightening. When I first read this book, I was very inspired. It may even have been the book that started my search. Now after about nine years, I have found that although a number of the messages in this book are somewhat misleading, it gives us enough food for thought to become motivated in the inquiry. A alternative superb and more advanced book with more psychology and less "psychic" types stuff that explains this material very very well is "The Ever-Transcending Spirit" by Toru Sato. It is written in a way that is easily understandable to beginners but the content is just so amazing that even people who have been reading about this stuff for years will be enlightened by it! Wonderful stuff!
