Book Reviews of The Celestine Prophecy

Book Review: Like or dislike
Summary: 5 Stars

On the technical side how the book is written and grammar used does occasionally leave you wondering... did I pay for this book and why?

If you read through these reviews you will note one thing. People either love it or hate it. For most people you will just need to find out for yourself.

I personally had the same thing. Got the book about 3 1/2 years ago, started reading it and thought... nah.. this is not me.. And left it at that...

About a year later I started reading it again and finished it in a couple of days and have since read it a number of times.

It is very hard to describe the type of person who will enjoy this book and I think that it is just as black and white as the people who have read it. If you are openminded and like to read about how maybe human society can develop along the views that this book tells you - it is a must read.

I guess is you are dealing alot with people (i.e. sales, manage people, public service, help centres) you can learn alot in this book. It has some great things written about how people use personal energy and how it effects you as a person. And there is lot more written about this as a personal development tool.

Personally I rate this book very high. Have learned alot from it and have given it to about 7 people who I know.. Some have read it and enjoyed it (who I didn't expect that they would read it) and other who I really thought... yep... didn't read it or couldn't get into it...

Hard to describe... bye it.. you can always sell it at the 2nd hand shop!

Book Review: We are Evolving - Our Time is Now
Summary: 5 Stars

A friend of mine recommended this book to me two years ago. She said it sounded very much like my beliefs and me. She wanted me to read this because she had seen that I have been going through a very deep dark valley and wanted me back out in the light. In my own arrogance and ignorance I said that I was not going to support some one selling philosophy for gain. These charlatans had nothing that I could gain from their writings. Two horribly long years past since she asked me to read the book. Once again she and I were talking and my situation came up and she recommended the book. At this point I have lost some of my arrogant bitter edge and I acquiesced and ordered the book. The book was delivered and I opened the box the next night and started glancing through it. I have had these identical ideas floating around with me all of my life. This book can bring focus to the blurred images. It is not for everyone. Only those ready to move from milk to meat so to speak. It is for those ready to evolve. Five and a half hours after opening the book for the first time I was in a neighboring city handing the book to a friend at 2:00 am that started coming to mind as I read the book. Some have been calling this a religion. It is not. It is an expansion of awareness that we are only parts of a greater whole. Read the book, if you are ready you will understand. Thank you for your work Mr. Redfield

Book Review: Are you a seeker of truth?
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a story of one man's search for truth and the meaning of life. We join him on his journey as he experiences a series of key spiritual insights.

In the book we are told that the insights were found in an ancient Peruvian manuscript. The manuscript maybe fiction, however the insights are true. How do I know? Well I too have experienced them and this happened before I read the book.

The nine insights to experience are:

1) Becoming aware of the "coincidences" in one's life.
2) Experiencing a heightened understanding of world history and Man's evolution.
3) Becoming aware that all living things have energy fields.
4) Becoming aware that people try to steal other people's energy, creating conflict.
5) Realising that it's not about you.
6) Becoming aware that you have a dream and a destiny to fulfil.
7) Becoming aware that many of your thoughts and actions are guided.
8) Realising that other people sometimes provide the answers that you seek.
9) Understanding that Mankind is on a journey towards living in perfect harmony with each other and nature, as our world evolves over the next 1,000 years into an Eden-like paradise.

If you have not experienced these insights and would like to, it really is very easy. Before I was blind and now I can see.

Good luck and God bless.

Book Review: Memorable Spiritual Adventure Tale!
Summary: 5 Stars

I had heard of this book for many years and always meant to read it. Some of my spiritual friends were totally blown away by the insights in this book. My critical friends were hostile to CP. But that's how critics tend to be. So I didn't pay them too much attention.

I've read books similar to this by Carlos Castaneda, Richard Bach, Dan Millman and other writers. That's why I could appreciate where James Redfield was coming from. If anyone has little patience for these types of books, I wouldn't recommend CP to you at all.

I found that the book has a beautiful style of writing that combines a surface-level action plot with inspirational teachings. The insights are sincerely explored and build upon one another in each chapter but you never feel that you are being preached at. The writing style is more exploratory but with the genuine expectation that these insights can actually transform individuals and collectively our planet.

I like that hopeful message in this book and that's the biggest reason to read this book. Other books similar to CP include the writers I mentioned above and a special mention for Paulo Coelho's The Pilgrimage: A Contemporary Quest for Ancient Wisdom and an unusually beautiful new book "Nexus: A Neo Novel."

Book Review: very enlightning
Summary: 5 Stars

i know that i lot of people liked to dish about how the auther wrote the book, that his style was uninteresting, amature, whatever-but i enjoyed the message as well as the plot.i read in another readers review that the main character used the words "i dont know" and other vague statements that really didnt go anywhere, but its not like one should suppose that just because a question is posed in a book that we automatically recieve an answer. in real life people cant always just spit out what they mean to say or how they feel in a passionate poetic way. im a 16 year old in high school and i havent heard of these new age concepts or anything really like them and what it did for me may hold a little more substance because the ideas are very refreshing and give me some insight into my own spirituality and idenifing with myself and the world around me.i think that a world wide conciesness of simple love and compassion could easly bring us all together.nothing else could. i am a christian the book really only helped me to better grasp my religion with more understanding.teachings of buddhism have helped me to do the same.i definitly recommend the book if you are willing to go into to it with an open mind and without an overcritical ego to dis the writing.(i have to say i am disappointed that the story was totally fictional,i mean mayans in peru?)
