The Cat In the Hat is still one of the best kids books ever written.
Summary of The Cat in the Hat, 1st Edition
First Edition 1957 Good condition with clean pages. The binding is still in good shape as well. I am aware that this is quite a vaulable/rare book. I am assuming this is a first printing b/c the particular stamp/symbol on the cover read "FOR BEGINNING READERS" in the black outline circle. Later printings of the first edition have a stamp/symbol that reads "i can read it all by myself." This later symbol was implemented not long after the first printing I believe. This book was passed down to my by my grandparents along with other rare collectible books, however, I do not have the space to store everything I have. I have seen this book (with the exact stamp symbol as mine) on other rare book dealer websites for 8500 and it has been listed in collectible book values as being worth 8,000-16,000 dollars for a good condition book.
