Book Review: Not for the Unintelligent or Literary Prudes

This book is excellent. Simple as that. If you are too slow to pick up on the HUMOR of the back and forth jabs between the two main characters, and instead misread it as some sort of chauvinistic slant, then I apologize that you are unable to catch subtext and read tone. There is not a single sexist remark in this book when all is taken in context. Also if you are one of those that can't handle open-mindedness or a book that may have characters that don't do as you would, think as you would, or believe what you do, then you won't like this book as it will challenge you in that area.
The Character Development, as in all of Heinlein's works, is phenomenal. You learn the ins and outs of the entire story through dialogue that both tells a story and develops the personalities of the characters with impeccable clarity! The story is a nail biter and a head scratcher all the way up to the end and, in true Heinlein fashion, the story abruptly changes direction in the middle which, in my humble opinion, has a polarizing effect. You either are intrigued by the new direction and refreshed with the change in writing or you are annoyed with the lack of consistency. I am a member of the former group.
Over all, this is for fans of the genre. If you enjoy Heinlein's style, you will enjoy this book as it is a perfect example of it. Witty, comical, and creative are its star attributes. Don't take anything at surface level and for the love of all that is holy, PLEASE, if you don't understand the humor in the dialogue, the SARCASM in their speech, then put the book down and walk away. You are not intelligent enough to touch even a paperback copy of any Heinlein work.
