In the book, the setting is non Tyto forest. The conflict of the story was Soren fell out his tree in the hollow and walked into the forest and a owl swooped him up and took him to thwe orphanage. in this book there are many characters such as Soren, gylfie, Mum, Da, Mrs.PLithiver, KLudd, Auntie Finney and lots more. First Soren fell out the tree, he got swooped up by a owl and he took him to the orphanage, Soren met Gylfie, rthey found out what they was doing there and try geting away but they got to lurn how to fly first. third person story tyhat was real good. The storys theme was corage and adventure.
if you like boooks about adventure this will be a great book for your if not dont read it

I think the authors message to all kids is she hopes you like the series because this was her first series and first book.I think this author has a good experience in writing.
I think Kathern Lasky is a great author. I recommend this book to kids to grades fourth to sventh Kathern Lasky recommends this book to kids in grades fourth to sixth. I really recommend this book to all kids.

A great book I just finished was The Capture. There are some scary parts in this book like bats sucking the owl's blood.This book is about an owl named Soren. He is a barn owl. He has a mom, a dad, a younger sister, and an older brother. When Soren is pushed out of the nest, he is swooped up by another owl. He is brought to St. Aegolius Accademy For Orphaned Owls. Soren makes a friend called Gylfie. She is an elf owl. Soren and Gylfie find out that the other owlets are moon blinked (hypnotized). They need to find a way out of this evil orphanage, fast!
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy or adventure.

If you like animals and like adventure books this would be a great book for you. For in this series a young owl named Soren,(this is the point where he can't fly yet) is captured by and evil force called St. Aggies. He goes there and mets his best friend Gylfie there. They must work together to escape. Along their journey they met two other owls. Twilight and Digger. Together all of them start their journey to the Great Ga'Hoole Tree. (The owls heard legends about them from their parents so they believe it is true and that the owl there are very noble and kind and will help them). Over all this is a GREAT book!!!!
