Book Reviews of The Capture (Guardians of Ga'hoole, Book 1)

Book Review: A non-stop Page-turner
Summary: 5 Stars

Do you want to read a book that is a non-stop page-turner? I could not put this book down and could not keep quiet about it! You have to read the trilogy Guardians of gahoole The Capture, The journey, and The Rescue. This is a story about a small loveable barn owl named Soren that is kidnapped and sent to a place called St. Aggie's School for orphan owls. But it enslaves the minds of the owls for an army. There Soren meets Gylfie and Twilight but Soren and Twilight can't fly, and that is their only means of escape. Gylfie has to teach them in secret (it sounded like a secret mission to me). After avoiding the vile school temporarily they meet Digger, a small desert owl who can't fly, so he runs (it was pretty funny to me). They band together searching the Great Gahoole tree in search of help Join Soren in an epic adventure. I give it 3 thumbs up! People who love adventures would love this book! There is amazing detail you would feel as if you were there with Soren! You won't regret reading this book!

Book Review: Soren vs. St. Aggie's
Summary: 5 Stars

In this book, Soren, a Tyto Alba (Barn Owl) gets knocked out of a tree, by the devil Kludd, or Soren's brother. He is taken to St. Aggies where he meets Skench, Spoorn, Auntie, Jat and Jut, Unk and other mean owls. He also meets good owls--Gylfie, Grimble, Twilight and Digger. In St. Aggies, the other owls beside Soren and Gylfie get moonblinked (brainwashed). This way, St. Aggies wants to do their evil plot--to take control of the owl kingdom. Gylfie and Soren escape moonblinking by telling old Gahoolian legends. Then they learn how to fly and they escape from St. Aggies. Meanwhile, they meet Twilight and Digger, also good owls, who become part of Soren's band. The band then has a big battle with owls from St. Aggies, and they are victorious.

I like this book and its cool because you get to find out lots of cool things about owls, and they have lots of different words in owl language, and its exciting, funny and serious.

I am 12 and am writing this with my dad.

Book Review: The Capture

Written by Bryce -Challengers

This book is really good book; it's called the Capture. A good book about these owls SA tranquil kingdom is where the barn owls dwell. But evil lurks in the owls world ,evil that threatens to shatter tyto's peace and changes the cores of Soren life forever .Soreness capture and taken away to a dark a forbidding canyon. It's called Anorghanage. To escape they will need to do something they have never done before is -flying.

If you want to know who wrote this book is Kathryn Lasky.

Book Review: Exciting and Wonderfully Imaginative
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this book at a Book Fair at my school and it took me, all in all, probably three hours of (noncontinuous) reading over a span of a day and a half. This book is absolutely excellent! I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the next books in the series. Perhaps the author isn't the best poet, but that's not the point of the story. The point of the story is to believe in yourself, no matter what obstacles you encounter, which Soren and Gylfie (the main characters) definitely accomplished. This book will make you laugh (the owls say "Good light" instead of "good night") and it may make you cry (but I won't tell you when or why). This book is definitely for fans of Richard Adams's Watership Down (which I shall read soon). Reading it would be a wiser choice than any owl could ever make!

Book Review: A MUST read!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a fantastic book! On the first page, you get absolutly enthralled in the carefree world of the Barn Owls, of which the main character, Soren, belonges to. Then, when Soren's only 2 weeks old his mean brother, Kludd, kicks Soren out of their nest, before he can fly. a gigantic owl swoops down and takes him away to a cruel so-called owl orphanedge, St. Aggie's, where Soren meets a friendly desert owl named Gylphie. They discover a horrible truth in St. Aggie's, and must learn to fly so that they can escape, but one problem....no flying allowed in closely patrolled St. Aggie's.......and another and Gylphie are determined to rescue not only themselves from the terrors of St. Aggie's, but every single owlet within it.

A FANTASTIC read. DEFINATLY worth it.
