Francesca's married to her husband and all that life with him entails, but the fire in her life died long ago. She lives her days on a Minnesota farm out of loyalty to her family. She never knew true love until it was too late. Kincaid rushed into her life and swept her off her feet then flew back out of her life leaving only memories and a puff of dust behind. A beautiful love story. It's one of the best ever. Robert James Waller retold the story with all the fire and emotions Francesca and Kincaid had for one another. It will make you long to find the kind of love they had!
Book Review: touching n' eerie Summary: 5 Stars
i am surprised at the readers' dislike for the book. i think it was great, it moved me. but i do call it eerie coz of robert's love for francesca. it was amazing how he holds on to her even though he knows they aren't going to be together. that's the power of love, i'll say. i did it give it to my boyfriend as a present too and the reason was that i knew he and i weren't going to be able to be together either, so i thought i'd let him him know thru this book how he'll always be with me. of course, my duffer boyfriend didn't get it though, till today (i think). men! (sigh)
Book Review: Mean people suck Summary: 5 Stars
I've left a review and I've read all the other reviews. Some of them were productive and others were not so productive. I believe that if you truly thought this book was awful, you have never loved another person in your life. All you disbelievers out there need to let go of reality once in a while and have some fun with what you're reading. Isn't that part of what reading is all about anyways?!?! I feel bad for those of you who hated it because you have probably never been in love or ever will be. I'm very much in love...you should try it.
Book Review: A Once-in-a-Lifetime Love Summary: 5 Stars
This is a lovely and lyrical book about a magical, once-in-a-lifetime love. A photographer on assignment in Iowa meets a farm wife from Italy. They spend four days together and form a lifelong connection. The book is poetic, sappy, maudlin and wonderful. It works!
One really gets to know Robert and Francesca. We feel for them and we know how they feel. The book made me cry twice. I could not put it down. It is a special book of hope and meaning. It speaks to the awe and reaching in all of us. It validates our dreams.
Book Review: Man this book is DOPE. Summary: 5 Stars
I just finished scammin the pages of this book, and it was dope. The way that dude just strolled into that poor old house chick's life and they just hit it off and hooked up and stuff, man that was cooool. Those dudes who be dissin' this book is just insecure about themselves, cuz they used to goin behind they honey's back, and they just now realized she can get her swerve on just as good as they can. Now that i have finished this novel, you can bet i'm gonna be hittin some other books by this dude.
