Book Review: my new "bible" for cookbooks

i bought this book because i already own the other bon appetit book and the words FAST and FRESH caught my eye since those are two of the most important things i look for when i am in the kitchen. i have tried several recipes out of this book which is several hundred pages, btw. it truly does stand up to its name. fast, easy and fresh. i literally will go straight to the index and see what i can make based on what is in my refridgerator and have been quite successful with my two kids (ages 4 and 6) and my husband. they also use easy to find ingredients, unlike the other book, which is more gourmet. perfect for weeknight cooking. key word: fast. i highly recommend it.Book Review: Absolutely Essential for any Cook

If you have shelf space for only one cookbook, this is the ONLY one you need. I have made over 100 (maybe 200?) of the recipes in this book and every single one has been fabulous. You cannot go wrong with the recipes in this book. My husband gave me this as a present several years ago. At the time I had over 50 cookbooks in my collection and recipes, I had concluded, were 50/50 hit or miss as written. This cookbook has surpassed them all: it's fusion of reliability (every recipe is good), incorporation of fresh ingredients, economy, and "gourmet" quality is UNSURPASSED. THIS BOOK IS A MUST!Book Review: Recipes that are quick and delicious!

The thing I like best about this cookbook is the fact that you don't have to go out and buy all sorts of exotic ingredients to make a great meal. And the recipes are not overly complicated, and don't take hours to prepare.
I guess with a name like "fast, easy, fresh", I shouldn't have been surprised! There are soups, salads, meat and fish dishes, vegetables, quick breads, desserts, even breakfast ideas and drinks. This book is huge, and I'm looking forward to trying many more recipes!

I bought this book a few months ago, and absolutely love it. I have flagged pages for so many recipes that I haven't even been able to get to all of them yet! This is my new "go-to" cookbook..I've tried at least 2 new recipe's every week and have not had a single disappointment. My family has already discovered some new favorites, and we're looking forward to more. This would make a fantastic Bridal Shower gift!
