The re-shaping of a woman's body is very time consuming and requires not only willpower, but also motivation and a belief that you deserve a better body. The book offers program details for all levels of fitness. A previous reviewer made mention of 'going into starvation mode' if allowing your DCI to drop too low. Actually, you can consume as few as 950 calories a day--if you are eating properly. By that, I stress the fact that you must eat every 2-1/2 to 3 hours to put your metabolism in high gear. Eating lean sources of protein, with good sources of omega-3 rich EFA, with plenty of fruits and veggies. For the best results you should consume ? oz plain, pure water for every pound you currently weigh. This aids every cell in your body, flushes out the fat and toxins, and keeps organs functioning optimally, etc... My trainer has me on 1084 calories daily for strength training and bodybuilding and it is enough food (I am always hungry and love the fact that I get to eat something every couple hours). Raw and whole grains, fruits and veggies, good fats (like olive oil, salmon, grapeseed oil, flax/linseed oil, etc...) and lean proteins will help keep you feeling full longer, and with low- and medium- glycemic index carbs your body can uses your food inout more efficiently than if you consumes breads, pasta, protein shakes and bars, fast food, etc... I guess I just wanted to let you know that eating smaller portions of food that is less processed and closer to its natural state will help ward off the hunger pains you expect when eating less and working out. You do need to add a pre- and post- workout meal in additional to your regular diet (e.g. pre w/o - 1/8 c raw oatmeal (or 1-minute oats) + 1/8 c. applesauce; post w/o - 1/2 c pineapple + 3 ounces of lean protein) as excellent combos to get you through your workout without breaking down muscle for fuel, and getting the needed protein to your muscles after working out to aid in their post-workout recovery. I'm no expert--which is why I have a trainer 3-4 days a week, but I do know through trial and error that if you just get up, then exercise and strength training will help you become more fit. The increased muscle on your frame will help you burn more body fat, too. Adding proper diet and nutrition is that edge you can give your health to boost your workout results, which will make you feel better, which will make you feel like working out, which will make you feel better, which is a positive cycle to get yourself in.

I was 225 lbs on a 5' 3" frame for 10+ years, and after hiring a trainer to get the motions on track I lost a little weight, but gained muscle and lowered my fat%. Then after changing my diet (to what my trainer told me to eat) I started dropping visceral body fat and my overall body fat % dropped rapidly. Due to increased muscle the scale moved downward slower that I wanted, but my shape was changing and that meant more that numbers on a scale. When the body fat lowered enough I could see the muscle definition and tone and it re-motivated me.

This book is enough, but an appointment with a strength/fitness trainer and/or nutritionist will really give you that edge needed to achieve your fitness goals faster with a healthy approach. The editing is poor, but you get the message. You can talk to the author and find out the missing or incorrect info. :-)
