Summary: 5 StarsIt was backwards of me to wait five years, after getting The Body Sculpting Bible for Abs, before also getting The Body Sculpting Bible for Women, Revised Edition: The Way to Physical Perfection! Even though following the exercises in the ab sculpting book works amazingly well, if I had also known the information given in the body sculpting book along with it, I would have maximized the potential results possible for my abs!
Jame Villepigue explains in detail what each ab exercise does; plus, he provides helpful tips to follow. The ab workout book does not give anywhere near as much vital overall information about exercise in general as does his body sculpting book. Now that I have this added information to go with my ab book, I'm already starting to see and feel the difference its making in only six weeks into doing the workouts compared to how I was doing my routines five years ago with less understanding about what and why I was doing things the way I did.
It's true that there are exercises which involve exercise equipment normally found only in a gym, but there is plenty of information in these books to make great use of the routines with what you do have available to use. For example, doing the High Chair Scissors exercises can be done if you have a tree nearby with a couple of branches available to rest your arms on (placing folded towels underneath to cushion the pressure).
The most useful equipment to achieve the best results are fortunately also the least expensive. Having only an exercise ball, floor mat, and weights are enough to get you great results. So don't let the lack of expensive equipment available have you thinking that these 'sculpting' books are not worth the money.
Understanding why and how important it is to have 'periodization training' (i.e., 'muscle confusion') incorporated into workout plans can make all the difference in the world, especially if you're the kind of person who needs to know about the details behind everything you do as much as possible in order to stay motivated.
