Book Review: Great, simple way to document your pregnancy!

I bought the Belly Book as soon as I learned I was pregnant. It hadn't even crossed my mind to do any type of journal, but I stumbled across this on Amazon and the amount of positive feedback made me check it out. I'm glad I bought it, and have been telling everyone else to buy it the second they find out they are pregnant too. It's better to buy it for yourself (rather than giving/receiving it as a gift later on down the road once you share the news) so you can start recording your memories right away!
The book does start counting at Week 1 of your pregnancy, which is in fact 2 weeks before you even conceived. Many women don't even discover they are pregnant until what is counted as "Week 5" or even 6 of their pregnancy. But I was able to work backwards and fill in those early weeks' pages by putting in pictures of what my husband and I had been doing at that time (instead of belly pics, which of course I didn't have). For example, week 1 we were celebrating Memorial Day weekend so I pasted in the pics, and week 2 we were at a friend's wedding so I pasted in those pics. Week 3 is your actual conception week, which for us was our anniversary, so I had pics to record that moment in time as well. From then on I did take a belly pic every week, and since I had no real belly changes throughout the whole first trimester, next to each belly pic I put in a pic of any other noteworthy event at the time (4th of July party, visiting out-of-town friends, vacation in California...this was over the summer). This will make a nice photo-journal of our pregnancy and where we were along the way as we experienced it.
Now that I am actually growing, I always take a front-on picture and a profile shot, and I crop them on the computer so I can fit both pics side-by-side on the page. I also find that the space provided to write in is sometimes a bit too small, so I type my responses on the computer so I can fit more, and then I just print and paste in. (I use double-sided tape to stick everything in, and it has held the photos and typing in perfectly.)
This has been a fun and easy book to keep up with, since I am not a scrap-booker or regular journal writer. Other books I looked at had too much going on and seemed overwhelming, and I knew I wouldn't keep up with them. This one is cute and simple and covers the basics, which is all I really need. I recommend you buy it the moment you discover you're expecting!!
