This book was required for a college class; however, I have greatly enjoyed it and find this book is a great read on its own. If you are a fan of such books as "The Hobbit," you will greatly enjoy this book. It's a wonderful companion book for your other Middle-Earth reads and helps you to understand some pieces of the stories that you may have earlier ignored.Book Review: A Must Have

This book includes all the maps in and around middle earth and gives history behind them. The maps are very detailed from The Shire to The Wilderlands to Mordor all is included. This book also is a historical guide to the events before and after the ring that i have not seen in any other LOTR map book. This is must have for any LOTR enthusiast.Book Review: Great book

This is very cool - the authors have taken clues from Tolkien's books and notes and come up with maps (including narratives) for major passages in Middle Earth history. I have the hardcover edition (available from Easton Press only I believe) which is a neat volume - sure the paperback version is equally good (if not as collectable).Book Review: Excellent resource/companion

For the serious Tolkein reader this book is absolutely necessary. I find myself referring to it frequently while reading the books. The more you learn about this wonderful world the more there is to know that enriches the reading experience
