Book Reviews of The Animated Man: A Life of Walt DisneyBook Review: Interesting facts, terrible presentation Summary: 2 Stars
Barrier's book is yet another mild retelling of the oft told story of Walt Disney and his studio. Connecting disparate factual (and previously well known) facts with wild, unfounded and unsupported conjecture makes the book read more like a first year collegiate term paper than a truly in depth study on Walt. Paring it with Neal Gabler's equally shoddy bio on Walt will give you nothing more than a slightly more rounded studio press release on Walt's life.
For the near-efinitive book on Walt, check out Stephan Watt's book "Walt Disney and the American Way of Life."
