Book Reviews of The American Journey of Barack ObamaBook Review: The history of Barack Obama's personal life and his rise through the political ranks. BCM Summary: 5 Stars
The American Journey of Barack Obama is a rich collection of photographs and information about the new US President! I really enjoyed reading this book as there is not an over abundance of detailed political information and strategising, though it still talks about President Obama's rise in the political arena. This book focuses on President Obama's family and his diverse upbringing. It tells of his multiculturalism and his strong desire to unite the United States, for the betterment of all.
I was so pleased by the overabundance of the large, colourful photographs, which were so telling, all on there own. I was delighted to see so many photographs of President Obama as he grew up and of his own family including his wife and his two young daughters, his siblings, parents and grandparents.
This is a man with immense ability and an unstoppable drive; he'll get the job done right!
I very highly recommend this book!
(10 out of 10 Diamonds) - Absolutely LOVED it!!

Book Review: America unbound: no barriers of class and race Summary: 5 Stars
The marvellous depiction by the editors of the LIFE Magazine on Barack Obama's life's sojourn leading to his assuming US Presidency is another example of America's cutural and social richness where family or social background hardly matters. Anybody having true worth and imagination can make it big in that promised land. Truly, Obama's life vindicates the de facto American motto E Pluribus Unum.
The American Journey of Barack Obama is the most appropriate title picked by by the LIFE Editors. The rich reserves of photographs in this book is the icing on the cake for the readers.
So far so good. But it's only half completed journey. The real test of Obama would be in his ability to lift the United States out of its current impasse and steer the bald eagle to its intended course as envisaged by the Founding Fathers. Obama's optimism as expressed in his best selling books might prove to be a plus point in this respect.

Book Review: LIfe does it again. Summary: 5 Stars
First of all let me just say that I rate books based on what they are. If I were rating this book as a comprehensive biography, it would do poorly. But, since it is a picture biography, it rated well. The pictures and layout are very well done. The text is interspersed with the pictures expertly.
Barak Obama's life story - starting with a brief introduction of the life of his parents - is told in a spare, and yet comprehensive manner. I felt that the writing was very bi-partisan, and the forces that shaped him, and what he chose to do with those influences, were the focus of the book.
I would recommend this book to anyonewho dosen't know much about our -soon to be - president; regardless of political persuasion. We all should know a little something about our commander in chief. I knew very little, and even if I do not agree with all of his politics, can't help but admire the man. And for those of you who do know about Obama, this is a very beautiful book to collect.
Book Review: ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I had purchased this as a gift for someone who born in Ghana. We have discussed many times how much we love Obama. When I received the book, I had to look at it. The photographs are exquisite and layout excellent. It contains very useful and interesting information. Boy, he sure was a beautiful little boy! Michelle looks elegant as always and Malia and Natasha's photos really show the reader just how AMAZINGLY beautiful they are as well. They bring a smile to my face, as I am sure they do to everybody's, every time I see them. They are blessings of pure joy!
A book for everyone who loves Obama and, those who appreciate it's splendid photography. I was very impressed with the whole thing.
Unfortunately, I have to buy gifts at this time of year and, have a small amount to do it with, so I will have to wait to get my copy. Hopefully, someone will put it on their list for me!
It was very difficult to give it up. I just want to keep looking at it!
Book Review: Excellent Collection! Summary: 5 Stars
The American Journey of Barack Obama is a wonderful retrospective of Barack Obama's political and personal life. The book starts off with a wonderful foreword by Senator Edward M. Kennedy and the Obama family tree. The family tree includes pictures that gives a clear picture to Senator Obama's family history. The text in this book documents the Senator's career from teaching constitutional law to his nomination for the presidency. What really makes this book stand out are the numerous candid photos of Barack, Michelle and their children. There are photos that date back to early childhood all the way to the Democratic National Convention. The American Journey of Barack Obama is a book that everyone should have in their collection.
