Book Reviews of The Accidental Time Machine

Book Review: Great Read! But jumps around quite a bit.
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a great book to read! However, it does jump around quite a bit. One second Matt is going about his business and the next he is 150 years in the future. Also, there were a few parts that didn't quite make logical sense about time travel.

Overall this is an excellent book and easy to read. If you like reading books similar to "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" or "Regarding Ducks and Universes", you will fall into this book quickly and not want to put it down.

Book Review: A dog learning to start a car
Summary: 4 Stars

It's the gentle humor that makes this tale, as one of the space aliens later puts it, of a dog learning how to start a car. It makes it work and keeps it working. It's amusing that it's New England that's eventually taken over by the Christian Right. Otherwise the future predictions are about what can be expected, including fuel-cell cars, no noticeable global warming, and eventual migration to the stars.

Book Review: Nice yarn and an easy read
Summary: 4 Stars

Great book if you want to kill an afternoon and evening. I like stories about science fiction and time travel and this was a fun read. Haldeman knows his audience and always makes the first few chapters very light and easy to get into. It's a familiar plot, but who cares? If you want to kill some time (no pun intended) and be entertained then I recommend this book.

Book Review: Good beach read.
Summary: 4 Stars

I cruised through this book. It didn't waste any time getting going and kept my interest to the end.

Make no mistakes...this isn't the deepest scifi book you'll ever read but -- well -- it's the book equivalent of chuggable beer. It's good.

Book Review: not bad at all...
Summary: 4 Stars

I've always enjoyed Haldeman... but I've not been keeping up and decided this book would be the one I'd try. I sat in one airliner, two airports, two trains and one bus and the book made the time go by pleasantly--what more can you ask from a story.
