Book Reviews of The Accidental Time MachineBook Review: Excellent Time Travel story Summary: 5 Stars
This is a book I couldn't put down, and when I finished it, I had to start reading it again. This is only my second Joe Haldeman book, I have read the covers off of my original copy of The Forever War, The Accidental Time Machine is in the same class, funny, witty, scientifically accurate and compelling. The characters are even more real and likeable than William and Marygay in TFW. Joe's take on the future of mankind is believeable, this is no Eloi vs Morlock future. It's interestingly located mostly around Boston, so if you know the city, you'll find yourself saying - "Oh yeah, I know where that is". It's nice to have a familiar (or at least stationary) backdrop when careening through time.
A great read, you'll wish it were longer, but just re-read it, you'll enjoy it as much the second time.
Book Review: TIME TRAVEL WITH HALDEMAN Summary: 5 Stars
Joe Haldeman, winner of many awards including HUGO and NEBULA, tells us his travel tale in THE ACCIDENTAL TIME MACHINE. You can not go wrong with Haldeman or this novel. It is a fun tale about accidently jumping to the future, and farther and farther into the future. I thoroughly enjoyed this simple tale, not technical, just fun. Highly Recommended.
Book Review: The Accidental Time Machine Summary: 5 Stars
I loved the book. This book is great. I liked the span of years involved in the story over thousands of years and several different types of cultures. Those who loved HG Wells book the time machine will love this book. It is well written and the storyline is great. I would buy another book by the author.
Book Review: Interesting twist on time travel Summary: 5 Stars
This is the first story I have read by Joe haldeman, and I will be looking for more. He brings up several fresh ideas on possible futures.
The Accidental Time Machine is one of those stories that you want to see how it ends, but at the same time you don't want it to end.
Highly recommend.
Book Review: great story Summary: 5 Stars
I thought I was going to be disappointed when I first began to read. The story seemed a bit silly and there wasn't really much science to speak of. But then, I found I couldn't put it down. The action grabbed me and wouldn't let go. Surprisingly engaging and a very quick, fun read!
