Book Review: 5th Horseman is worse than horrible!

James Patterson has been one of my favorite authors of all time. The Women's Murder Club books are the only co-authored I've read and now I'm done. I am only 1/3 of the way through this and I will never read another one. I may not read any more James Patterson books either. I thought he was better than this, putting his name to a book that is so poorly written, so poorly researched and the plots are so poorly thought out.
I am a registered nurse and I cannot believe the outright absurdness. What woman would take her mother to a hospital ER and sit there for 18 hours before at least attempting to find out what's going on? Would NEVER happen, not in any hospital. The mother was diagnosed with a TIA. Nope, wrong again. A TIA is a mini-stroke that quickly resolves itself (many people don't even know they've had one) and doesn't require 18 hour stabilization OR hospitalization. Broken legs don't result in hospitalization. And finally (and this is when I quit listening to the audiobook), if a nurse gave medication to the wrong patient, a doctor would not be on trial. That whole insulin situation was just totally ridiculous. Insulin isn't given IV routinely, only if critically ill or in an ER to rapidly bring down a very high blood sugar.
I can't believe a reputable editor didn't just throw it in the trash.

If a book is going to thank 4 researchers you would think that at least one of them could have bought a map of San Francisco. On page 9 Union Square is moved out to the Golden Gate Panhandle and it only gets worse from there. At least find out where the major landmarks are. And just for future reference of the great researchers San Francisco doesn't have Hellmanns it has Best Foods. James Patterson should be ashamed to have his name on this book and the publisher should be embarressed. I never did figure out what it had to do with a "women's murder club" or whatever. Save your money.
