Book Review: Ain't to Proud to Beg !!!
Summary: 3 Stars
While "tipping my hat" to Otis for "putting together" the classic group, there is so much more to this story. This was a group that made other groups look like mere "rookies" in comparison. A group made up of individuals whose harmonies were coupled with a stage presence that lit up the stage and left the audience with a sincere feeling of awe. I had the pleasure of seeing them at their best at the Copa in New York, as well as at other notable venues.
David Ruffin, Edddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, Melvin Franklin, and...yes, Otis Williams. In all fairness, I personally never thought Otis to be in the same league, but that's just me.
There is much more to their story. You can also see "Deliver us From Temptation" as well as others.
Maybe a good introduction to a class act...
