Book Review: Tiny, Tiny, Trial Size Tarot! :)

Anything by Running Press Miniatures is going to be a tiny, stripped down, essence-of-the-thing product. You best think of them as, indeed, being at best idea samplers. For that reason, Running Press products are interesting because they give one a small taste of a subject for small price. Then, if the person's genuine interest is peaked, he / she can jump into larger, more detailed, more functional, and well-designed products. So, I knew what to expect with this Tarot. In fact, I bought it because it was eye-catching and tiny! LOL [You should know that I am a fan of miniature items by Running Press. I've found a lot of new topics through them.] This product was my first experience with Tarot and related topics. It's definitely a beginner's item.
The hardback book is the best part of this product. For its diminutive size, it contains some great, whimsical graphics and helpful information organized in an easy-to-use format. The font in the book is a little smaller than I like, so eye glass wearers like myself should take that into consideration. The font on the cards is yet smaller! Anyone have a magnifying glass? LOL [I've uploaded pictures to Amazon. Hopefully, these can give shoppers an idea of what the actual product looks like.]

I enjoy the bright, colorful design of tiny Tarot Nova. My favorite cards from this deck / book set are the following: The Magician; The Wheel of Fortune; The Star; The Moon; The World; IX of Cups; THe Queen of Swords. You'll get a better impression of the artwork from the book than from the tiny cards, though. You'll wish that they made these clever cards in a bigger, more functional version! I know I did! Shuffling and / or otherwise using 78 itzy-bitzy cards is an exercise in patience -- a recipe for frustration to some. I found a nice box to keep them in, and rather than trying to shuffle, I just shake the box to mix them up well, and then I draw cards one at a time, placing them in a layout. This works. Then, I consult the book to see the larger picture of the image and to read the commentary.
For me, this product was worth the price because it allowed me to poke around with the subject to see if it appealed to me. It's also discreet with its size and easily portable. I recommend it for those who like tiny things, those who have a sense of humor, and those who want a tiny travel sized set that can be stashed away.
