Book Reviews of Tao of Jeet Kune DoBook Review: The beste ever written on combat Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best book i have ever read on the subject of combat ( not sparring ore competition ) the book gives you a guidet to the thaugts and mind of a great master of realistic hand to hand coombat. Lee was one of the first to realize that in order to train for the street you had to go all out everything goes and free your mind from styl-thinking, for instance developing qualities in all the different ranges of fighting ( kicking range, punching range, trapping, grappling...). You have to adapt no style as style and have no limitations whatsoever. I find this to be a very good guide for advanced students. I first bought this book 15 years ago, and did not understand much other than some of the foreword. Having practiced martial arts and selfdefense for the last ten years i now start to understand the tremendus insight and depht of this work. A must read for everyone wawnting to make sure that they train to survive outside of the ring as well as inside.
Book Review: Mind opening reading material...great for everyone!! Summary: 5 Stars
i just want to say...the whole point of the book is to expose & open minds to not only a new form of martial arts but to a way of thinking that allows you to be in harmony with everything around you. "7 problems with "The Art of Jeet Kune Do" by Bruce Lee, August 25, 2001 Reviewer: BFGalbraith " THIS GUY was sooo close minded when he read it that he doesnt deserve to have the book...although its good he read it & has many thoughts about it...i guess he was willing to give it a try but he didnt fully open himself to the ideas & philosy of the book. See, if he read it & compared the styles of martial arts & made them more efficient or understood why Bruce Lee would alter the moves & go from there, his reading expierience would have been so much more enjoyable. However , he just stopped reading the book & started to compare & critique it without fully understanding Bruce Lee's Book.
Book Review: Be Like Water? Summary: 5 Stars
Be Like Water? March 17, 2004
Bruce Lee, got his foundation in Wing Chun Kung Fu. When you read this book, don't misunderstand Bruce Lee's philosophy: he is offering you concepts. The concept of throwing out everything in an art that you can't use and adding what you think is useful often leaves a watered down version each succeeding generation of new students depending upon what their teachers think useless. Some- how I don't think that was Bruce Lee's intention or meaning! The individual can however, develop his or her own repitoire by training in more than just one style, which was considered disloyal, when Bruce Lee was alive. Bruce Lee, wasn't about style he was about concepts, but don't forget he already got his foundation from Wing Chun, so pick an art to stay with and develop your foundation as you grow in the martial arts. Buy this and read it several times.
Train hard and have fun!

Book Review: Bruce Lee is the master. Summary: 5 Stars
Read this book. It rules. Bruce Lee was so strong in real life, that he could do one-handed pushups on just 2 fingers. He also stressed kicking low, below the belt. In some of his fighting books, he made before them before he started thinking about the philosophy of Jeet Kune Do, so they might show him kicking high. If you want to learn Jeet Kune Do you shouldn't just read some books and expect to be a power house fighter all of a sudden. To become a powerhouse fighter you need to do thousands of pushups and cruches and push your self to your maximum physical limit. You can never become a excellent fighter by just being good at fighting. You have to be in exellent shape too. That is another thing Bruce stressed was being in maximum physical condition. If you can't do 50 pushups straight, then you can't be as fast and powerful as you would like to be. Physical condition is almost as important as fighting skill it self.
Book Review: If I could rate this book with more stars I would. Summary: 5 Stars
I just got this book in the mail and it is excellent, a little hard to understand but if u take your time on the book it is great. Don't listen to other peoples reveiws listen to mine. Other people just wright stuff when they havent even read this book. I am reading it right now. The whole first part of the book is sorta hard to understand like "What is this guy talking about?" but when you keep reading it makes since. I am no martial artist but I sure wish that I could get into this. Just by reading this book I am learning much about martial arts from it. This book will show you blocks, attacks, and different stances to use. I had doubts on this book before I got it but now that I have it I am one happy guy. If you are looking for a martial arts book this is the book you should buy. If you have any questions what so ever, please e-mail me.
