Book Review: Heavy going!
Summary: 4 Stars
Firstly a comment on the makers of the book itself. The book arrived in excellent order but, within five mintues the front cover started to curl. When I put the book down for the night (flat), I placed it face down to prevent the cover from curling futher. In the morning, the back cover had curled up as well. This does not bode well for the longevity of the book! Perhaps the makers could look at better materials in future publications.
The book itself is written very well. I did find it hard going as I was lost many times in the use of the written word.
I believed myself to have an average understanding of English but after trying to read this book, I now believe that my understanding is lacking.
It is hard to concentrate on a subject when continually reaching for a dictionary.
This is unfortunate for I believe that there will be others out there wanting to learn the messages contained in this book who have a similar if not worse understanding of written English. These people will miss out on the immense value of these messages as a result.
Having said all that however, I will refer back to this book many times as my understanding improves. Why? Because the messages I did understand where very clear and conscise in particular the intructions to the exercises. There was no need for pictures,diagrams or photos.
All in all, just because I had some difficulty in reading this book, you may not and I believe the messages contained within should be learned or at least acknowledged by all regardless of gender or preference.
