Book Reviews of Tales of the Cthulhu MythosBook Review: Needed Better Story Selection but Still Good Summary: 4 Stars
Most of the stories in this book are good. Robert Bloch, from Psycho fame, was as good an author as Lovecraft. The Steven King story was typical King, if you like that sort of thing. Philip Jose Farmer and Robert Bloch carried the weight in this one. I think the editor could have found better Lovecraft noir stories, but it was good regardless.
Book Review: The definitive collection of Lovecraftian horror Summary: 4 Stars
If you've ever wondered what the phrase "Lovecraftian horror" meant, read this book. Here you'll find a fantastic collection of works inspired by the mythos created by H.P. Lovecraft. Full of pyschological terrors, alien horrors, and mind-twisting frights, this book proves that Lovecraft's legacy lives on as he intended.
Book Review: Lovecraftian, not Lovecraft Summary: 4 Stars
The only disappointment that I had with this book was that there was not more from the master himself. However, for fans of the genre, this is fantastic compilation of chilling tales from some of the best. Look for great contributions from Robert Bloch and Stephen King!
Book Review: Good for a chuckle or a scare Summary: 4 Stars
Lovecraft is of course the master of his own storytelling framework, but some of the other authors have an interesting take on his work. Others are a bit derivative and didn't hold my attention. I love the genre though.
Book Review: Very good antho Summary: 4 Stars
A great collection of talent here, headed by Lovecraft himself. Super. Not sure which one I enjoyed the most. A great buy.
