Book Reviews of Strength Training Anatomy - 2nd Edition

Book Review: Excellent source of Information
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this at Costco on a whim, because I weight train and it is really fantastic.

Explanations of what an excercise will do and what muscle groups are an excellent source of information, but I am a visiual learner and this product really shows you what each excercise does in the gym, so you can focus on a particular area more easily. It is not and encyclopedia but a great resource of information.

It has the info with the pictures to help and considering it is translated it is still fairly easy to understand.

For weight trainers this is a great resource!

Book Review: Strength Training Anatomy
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a fabulous book for planning or modifying weight training workouts. It provides anatomical drawings of about 20 exercises for each body part, highlighting the primary muscles worked. The drawings are excellent, providing a clearer understanding of the muscles worked than either a photo or a verbal description. For each exercise, there is a concise description of how to perform it, as well as pictures of some variations, with explanations of their effect. As over-stress injuries are common, this book explains and pictures the most common injuries and explains how to treat them

Book Review: For the curious and detail-oriented strength trainer
Summary: 5 Stars

I happened to see this book at a local store one day while browsing; since I lift weights, I thought it would be interesting. This book excels in two areas: showing which particular muscles are used in certain exercises and getting as detailed anatomically as possible. A person who would like this book would be a person who would say, what is the difference between doing preacher curls or dumbbell curls, and when doing dumbbell curls, why does it matter if I turn my wrists at the top or not at all? I consult this book frequently for questoins about form and new exercise tips.

Book Review: Simple and to the point!
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are looking for a no nonsense book to show you exercises that target certain areas of the body without a lot of fluff, then this is the book for you. It is a great guide if you are looking for guidance on how to properly lift weights, or target muscle groups for growth. It is set up very well. If you are working out arms, you simply turn to the "arms" section and pick the exercises you want to do. It even gives you tips on how to avoid injuries like torn rotator cuffs, back, etc. I highly recommend it if you are getting started at resis5tance and weight training.

Book Review: Great information!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have to say I was most impressed with this book and was exactly what I was looking for. It shows *exactly* what muscles are worked with each different exercise- which is a great help for muscle isolation.

Over the years I have tried working out, but really had no clue how to properly perform the exercises or exactly what muscle was being worked. This book definitely tells you how to properly do the exercise, what muscles are being worked, and even alternative ways of doing the same exercise.

Definitely worth the price!
