Book Reviews of Strength Training Anatomy - 2nd EditionBook Review: New Second Edition Even More Helpful! Summary: 5 Stars
I have the original first edition of this title, and I continue to refer to it for fun and inspiration. This second edition, however, has a few extra pages on common sports injuries associated with the various body parts worked, which is excellent. Unfortunately, everything is done is an "overview" manner so further details will require reference to another text. However, as the introductory book to strength training and weight-lifting that this is clearly intended to be, it is quite excellent, and now all the more so by giving some attention to the topic of sports injuries. They should hand copies of this book out at every gym!!

This book is an excellent resource on what exercises to use to train certain muscle groups. The detailed illustrations are in color and provide the strength athelete with so much informaion that it's like having a personal trainer guide you. This book also includes detailed information on training injuries and preventative measures. If you are new to strength training or an experienced trainer you will find this book an excellent resource. I have it in my library and often refer to it when creating new exercise routines. If you are planning to set New Year goals for 2007 then buy this book as it will guide you in your fitness goals.
Book Review: The ultimate strength training guide! Summary: 5 Stars
Put quite simply, this is the bible of strength training! I have the women's version of this book (lower body) and finally decided to buy this general one so that I could refresh my knowledge of the proper technique for key upper body strength training exercises. I love the way this book shows the pictures of muscles involved and the proper/improper way to do the exercises. It also explains the why and why not of the exercises. If you are serious about your strength training and want to know how to do it right, get this book. I hope that Mr. Delavier will someday publish an even larger version of this with more exercises.
Book Review: Great Illustrations on Muscles in Use. Summary: 5 Stars
This is an absolutely great book. It exceeded my expectations, since it illustrates very clearly the muscles being used during a particular exercise. I am a pictures person, and find this extremely helpful. Must strength training books show the exercise/technique, but do not show the muscles working during a particular exercise. This book is very clear, well done, and enjoyable to use. I have taken it to the Gym when I strength train, and I find the easy to understand illustrations extremely helpful in targeting what muscles I want to work on that partucular training session. Buy it with confidence. The price is great too.
Book Review: Workout Enthusiast Summary: 5 Stars
This is the workout bible! I've been working out for fifteen years and this is the most complete and amazingly illustrated weight lifting book I have ever come across. A variety of specific exercises for each muscle group is demonstrated with easy to follow instructions and detailed pictures. The primary muscle groups in each exercise are highlighted red and all muscle groups used in the exercise are labeled. The book is well organized and grouped by category as follows:
* Arms
* Shoulders
* Chest
* Back
* Legs
* Buttocks
* Abdomen
THE BEST WORKOUT BOOK EVER!
