The book I am reviewing is called Stone Fox by John Reynolds Gardiner. This book is about a boy named Little Willy who has to take care of his grandfather who is very ill. A problem that occurs is that Little Willy is poor and has only the money in his college savings account. So Little Willy enters a dog sled race. The prize is $500 dollars. I recommend this book to everyone in my school. I would rate this book five stars because I absolutely loved it!

Book Review: Excellent for classroom use!

I bought a class set of Stone Fox. My second graders LOVED the story. It taught them lessons about fairness, determination, and love. They were captured by the writing style. This is a beautiful story of a young boy's love for his family and his dog. It can be used along with the video as an EXCELLENT compare/contrast lesson. The vocabulary can be adjusted for any grade level. It's wonderful for teachers but it's also just a really touching story. I recommend it to any animal lover!Book Review: Searchlight

Our class thought that many parts of the book were interesting. Everyone read the book while in a group. Many parts of the story were sad such as when the dog died. We learned that you should keep trying something and not to give up. The book taught us that you should us more than one dog in a sled race. Everyone learned that people and animals should not be made to go faster than they can. Our class feels that everyone would enjoy this book because the book was very exciting.Book Review: Stone Fox

The author of this book Stone Fox is John Reynolds Gardiner. My favorite character is the dog whose name is Search Light. She is a great character. She is always willing to help Willie and Willies grandfather. Search Light always wants to protect them and is very strong. The story took place is Wyoming. To me the saddest part is not expected to happen. I would recommend this book to anyone can take in sadness and be glad when there are happy parts. This is a great book.
